Title: Super-short Bumblebee Drabble
Fandom: Transformers
And somewhere through the pain I heard a familiar voice. The cold and agony ebbed, and without thinking I snapped down my face guard, charging my cannon and lifting myself to an elbow to point the nozzle at the humans who'd had no qualms causing harm to a being that hadn't so much as laid a finger on them. I can honestly say that that moment was one of the very few times in my life that I doubted Optimus' judgment.
They couldn't possibly be the innocent creatures he made them out to be.
But suddenly a different human was standing in front of me, his hands out, looking like he'd like to touch me but I suppose I was being pretty frightening at the moment. I tried to shake the panic, but they still had those damnable frozen nitrogen guns in their hands and I swept my cannon across the room, physically straining to keep from firing. I just wanted them to stay the hell away.
Sam was saying something to me in a calming voice, something about them being okay, and I wanted to shout at him, "Okay?! Did you see what they were doing?! Did you forget what they did to you?!" but damn it all...my voice. Even if I wanted to, I don't think I can get a radio signal in this state, and besides that, the signals are weak inside this structure. I slid off of the table.
Sam stood between myself and those humans, and I cursed under my breath. I toyed with the idea of simply plucking him up and out of the way before razing each of those torturing bastards to the ground, but I had the feeling Sam would be extremely upset if I did something like that.
I...do not want to disappoint Sam. How strange. Since when had he gained the kind of respect I usually reserve for Optimus Prime? Granted, he'd trusted me rather quickly in the junkyard, but that was after I'd saved him from Barricade...and then, he'd attacked the men down by the canal, trying feebly to free me, knowing he wouldn't do much good, but trying anyway, for my sake...
Perhaps I could find a friend in one of these creatures after all.
