House vs Car

Question : What would you rather have brand new house or a brand new car? Just browsing through peoples LJ's (People I don't know) I stumbled onto 1 where a guy had a hard choice between any new car within reason and a new house.. I was like how can that be a hard choice?? I would take the house without a doubt. What would you take???

I don't know how that's even a choice - we're talking apples and oranges on multiple fronts. Qualifying for a mortgage is exponentially more difficult than qualifying for a car loan, and given the choice - who on Gods green earth would choose a car (and expense) over a house (an investment)?

Reminds me of all the kids out here in SoCal who drive $50K cars but live with their parents. Money talks but wealth whispers - they're not fooling anyone.
