 Okay. So. Things to look forward to:

-Getting in shape. Happening a little bit every day.
-Mario weekend part deux with Peter, Dave, and Kayleigh.
-Thanksgiving with Tabby's family. Spending it alone last year was kind of cool, but also kind of devastatingly depressing. I need to feel that camaraderie again.
-The first Christmas with my family in 3

The little things are the best parts of life, I think. If you don't enjoy them and derive pleasure only from being a vagabond road-warrior, I don't think you'd be a very happy person. You'd be quite unhinged, and not in good way. And, there's nothing childish about looking forward to a good show with good friends.

Y'know...I always thought "Yggdrasil" sounds like some sort of vaginal yeast infection cream (coming from the Norse root "Yggr" meaning "terror" and "sil" meaning "abnormal growth of squamous cells on the surface of the cervix").

Damn, I just made an entomology joke. I'm a nerd.

It was so easy as a kid to think my parents just knew how to be adults, like at some point they just came into this knowledge and it was fine from then on. I recognize now that they were winging it just as much as I am, and that probably, to a kid, I look like I make more sense and know more than I do. But I still have to remind myself that adulthood is a process, and all adults suck at being adults in some ways, and that people in their 20s are really young, really really young, and it's okay that I don't have my shit together at 25.

So yeah. What I'm saying is I think I know what you mean.

I know exactly how you feel about your parents. I thought the same things when I was really young. Things aren't what you think they'll end up being.
