I didn't realize this was going to be so long but I didn't want to leave out any details for my own memory purposes.
So I picked up
ladg0th yesterday around 1:30 to make our way up to the show. Good thing we left so early because I knew I was going to get lost once we got to the district, I always do and of course I did this time as well. I know I drove around the general area where the venue was for about 30 mins trying to find it as well as the parking garage.
I finally found it, parked in the garage then we made our way to the theater. The doors were supposed to open at 7:00 (they didn't naturally). So we had to wait out in the cold from 6:30 until about 7:30 ish when they finally started to let everyone inside. First thing we did was stop by the merchandise table, I bought a shirt, the tour book and 2 of the button sets (one of which is for
queenwanda). Then we made our way up to our seats in the balcony. The show was supposed to start at 8:00 (of course it didn't, I think it was near 9:00 when they got on stage).
So now it's show time they all come to front of the stage and of course the audience is just going crazy. I myself just kept saying OH MY GOD over and over again. First they played "Friends of Mine" (Simon bent over and slapped his ass during this song, I nearly died, LOL). After that they did "hungry Like The Wolf", right after that one Nick had a problem with his keyboards so there was a slight delay. In the meantime Simon tried to entertain by telling some bad jokes, John heckled him afterwards. Also he then introduced the band and then John sid "Maybe we should also introduce the singer". That got me excited, hehehe.
So now the problem was supposedly fixed and they launched into "Planet Earth". After that one there was still some technial problem going on so Simon told everyone "We can't perform these songs properly because there is a MAJOR techinical problem going on up here, so we are going to go off stage until it's fixed and then we will finish the show" OH boy, that announcement made me a little nervous...so i went outside with
ladyg0th (as well as half of the audience) to go smoke a cigarette. While outside of course I got to thinking if it's a serious problem that can't be fixed this show is going to be cancelled! All I get to hear was 3 songs! :( Well we weren't even out there for 10 mins when someone opens the door and we hear music. We both threw down our cigs and ran back upstairs so fast I'm surprised I didn't lose my breath. We get back to our seats but we had missed the first minute or so of "Come Undone".
The rest of the show seemed to go ok altough there was a few times I couldn't hear Simon. Our seats were'nt too bad we could see them, not as good as I would have liked but I'm not complaing at least I was there. We didn't get ANY pictures of the show, they had some harcorde camera nazis there. One flash and they were on you within seconds. They also very strict about people with cell phones, as well as people who tired to use lighters during "Save A Prayer".
Afterwards we had to get my car out of the garage because they were going to lock it up 30 mins after the show ended. Well, right beside the garage was the entrance to the back stage where we saw the tour bus. I got the car out and parked it on a nearby street and we walked back over to the tour bus. There was 20 maybe 30 other people out there waiting as well. I though our chances of meeting them would be pretty decent. Wishfull thinking because there wasn't a chance in hell we were going too. I know sercurity is supposed to be strict but these people were exceptionally mean! They told uswe had to go wait on the sidewalk or they were going to start arresting people. Somehow a chant of "Hell no we wont go!" got started, I thought it was hilarious! One sercurity gaurd even insulted some lady that was standing out there. He said something she wasn't a 16 girl anymore or something to that effect about her age.
I know we watied outside in the cold for about an hour before we saw them come out and I'm pretty sure I saw Simon get on the bus. Then the bus came past us and Roger and Andy were sitting near the front and waved to everyone. We might have some pictures of that. So that was the closest we came to meeting any of them. I'm afraid that would be my last chance of ever doing that too.
And that my friends was how it all went down last night. Hope it wasn't too boring.
