What a heartbreaking story. I continue to feel such anger that people don't understand mental illness. They'd rather believe it doesn't exist. *sigh*

Bipolar is such an awful illness--and it's immensely frustrating when other people actually try to intervene and claim that nothing is wrong. If the woman was diagnosed with diabetes, you can bet your ass they wouldn't be trying to get her off her insulin and urging her to down some more candy.

Exactly. Thank you. In fact, she is diabetic, and no one seems to have had a problem agreeing with that diagnosis.

From what little i know, I hear bipolar is difficult to treat? HUGS... It isn't easy.

It certainly isn't simple to treat. Bipolarism varies in its severity, its symptoms, etc. If we could just get her into treatment with someone who knew what they were doing, of course. Thanks for the hugs. :)

One of my closest friends is bipolar...

I haven't read a description of how it afects people around someone who has this condition in a long time.
