This is fabulous. One of the best pieces of the week, I'd say. I don't think you needed to expressley state your point that their gender shouldn't have mattered. I think the story you told illustrated that powerfully enough. Great job.

Thank you! I just didn't want it to seem like I was favoring one gender over another. If Joey, in this story, had not had a girlfriend and had slept with multiple women who were okay with it, I would not think any more of it than if a woman were to do the same. I was just concerned that people might feel I was coming from a "Only women should be treated decently!" place. :)

They are. It infuriates me. It's ironic, because my husband and I were just discussing the sexual ethics double-standard the other day, so when I saw this topic, I immediately knew what I wanted to write about.
