Ring It Up

Christmas was a quiet affair here. I never did get totally in the spirit and neither Chris nor I were really wanting to spend a lot on each other. Chris also went out to California for a few days to be with his family. He returned on Christmas Day and I cooked up a big pot of chili for the two of us. I think this kicks off our attempt to cook ( Read more... )

I have your same ideas about jewelry. I'd rather spend the disposable income on things you can use.

I can also smell the up-sale coming with the floormats.

intropsective can be good

Yeah, Robbins Bros wanted us to buy a service warranty on the ring. The tungsten rings we bought have lifetime service included with the price. Robbins Bros was trying to do the whole "Your love is worth this (financial) commitment." To me that's the same as saying "You need this irrevocable 5 year gym membership because you are fat." The latter may be true but doesn't justify why your sales pitch is sleezy.

I wanted a ring, but like George foreman and Mufflers, I wasn't going to pay a lot for it. Luckily we found a good alternative.

Yea, the Tungsten rings seemed to be a good fit for us. For one thing we had to get larger rings so it wouldn't look tiny on my fat fingers, and we wanted something more than a simple band. The tungsten rings are light and durable, and inexpensive. We also already knew we wanted something silvery. We did look at white gold, but that was too much.

Here's what we got. It's an 8mm ring.

Well Rice just won their game tonight, the first bowl game win for them since 1953. The Coogs (Houston) haven't won a bowl game since 1980, so there's not much to talk about.

I find following the teams kind of fun, but I really can't sit down and actually watch a full game - it's too long and too boring. They need to take all of the clock stoppers (including some of the commercials), and the game would be more interesting.

I bought Craig's Tungsten Carbide ring on ebay of all places; and it was VERY affordable. I got mine on Overstock.com, I wanted a little sparkle. ;)

Congrats on the nuptuals; it was great seeing you both last night!
