One More Day of Work Before Vacation!

Apr 16, 2009 08:46

☆ Well, again I'm having to say something about how long it's been since I've written in my journal. For weeks I had a half written post about TBRU that never got off the ground. Partly it was due to stress at work and trying to get through tax season, and now that's over, thankfully. It may not have been as hard as we thought, but it's ( Read more... )

But if you guys secede from the union I'll need a passport to go to TBRU!! :: laugh :: Really, is the current administration such an issue that they need to even bring this up???

Well, if we secede I think we'll be having TBRU somewhere else. I don't think the new Texas Republic would really be a good place for gays.

I think it's mainly from a Governor who's worried about losing his spot, but after 9 years, it's time for him to go. It would be nice if we had term limits.

Texas is pretty diverse, and the Republican stranglehold on government here is starting to loosen as the demographics change and the policies of these people start to show that the infrastructure of the state is in trouble. Heck our roads, once the pride of the nation are in terrible shape and the states answer is only to build toll roads now.

Packing for the cruise: only pack 4 days worth of clothes and look into having laundry done shipboard. We found it fairly economical to have a "bag of laundry" done a couple of times on the Alaska cruise.

Well, that's a way to do it, and it did cross my mind, but I really like having a different shirt each day. I don't have to have a change of clothes for each time I appear, but I do like to change it up! Now pants and shorts I can have cleaned!

The one and only cruise I sailed on, I threw all caution to the wind and bought myself a skimpy Speedo at the ship's store. I suppose it didn't matter so much because I spent more of my time in the water rather than lounging at poolside. (Also, this was a normal cruise with me in a party of six, not one where the party had the entire ship.)

Also, I got a lot of attention at Fiesta de los Osos the day I wore my (new) Speedo at the pool, especially from the Mexican contingent.

Bottom line: you never know.

Well, I couldn't find any really small swimsuits. I'd love to have some short square swimshorts - something a little skimpy, but I know i'd probably need a little more courage to get out there in it!

It's a little easier with a bunch of bears - it would scare me to do that with the straights around!

You won't be the largest guy on the ship. Once you go on a gay cruise you will see a lot of the same people that went on your last one.

I went bymyself on my last gay cruise in Feb and had the time of my life. I assume Chris is going too-yes?

Don't forget to leave room for the TShirts you will be pickin up on the trip.

Enjoy your cruise

I'm trying to leave a little room, but it's tough!

I hope to see some of the same people from the Alaska Cruise. There were some great people on that ship!

And yes, Chris is going too. i didn't want to pay for the cabin all by myself! :-)
