I will do, I think it's my duty to direct attention to the site now, anyway.

I knew that Lloyd would be at the job fair today, but he was being really outgoing and asked Jason if he was on Bear 411. We had a great lunch and a lot of fun commiserating. It was nice to be able to get out of the house and chat. The job fair did provide a couple of leads I need to follow up on, so we will see.

Excellent blog, Michael! I enjoyed reading it. I've been behind the curve on my business resume, as it has been on the computer in storage. I didn't have it on my laptop. So, your advice the column was right on target for me. My focus has been on theater first and all of those materials .. headshot, resume .. have been updated and are in use.

I'm not sure how much websites like monster.com generate legit interviewing opportunities. Networking remains the best source of actual jobs. I'd be talking to folks you knew in Houston and Dallas for leads, as you perform your own search for work.

Yes, I don't find Monster or Career Builder all that helpful. I guess I would need to set up better screens for that. I've been using some other aggregators for more of my search, as well as going to individual company sites where I can see all of their positions. so far that's been much more successful.

I look at the blog as a bit of "here's some tips" but not expert advice, sort of a cautionary tale. I think from a writing standpoint it's a good angle.

I got laid off in September '07, ended up working 3 temp jobs, and finally got hired full-time in May '09.
I hope that you won't be out of work for too long, but be prepared for a tough job market out there.
