Great progress! I bet the ins and outs drove you nuts when you did that trim.

Did Kate make her dress? It looks really pretty! (And I can't believe she's letting you see it ;) This is an ongoing argument with Brad and me--the groom shouldn't see the dress before the wedding!)

Yeah, at least they were small pieces, so if I had to recut it wasn't like we had wasted a ton of materials. It's amazing how different it looks with the trim up on those pieces, though, let alone the rest of the rooms.

Kate bought her dress from a place in Bethesda, and yeah, it's really nice. It's a natural silk fabric, so it has the natural imperfections of a raw silk as well as the softness and "flowy" nature of that kind of silk.

As for seeing the dress, I went with her when she picked it out and tried on the different styles, so I'd already seen it. But it's also a tradition to not live with the bride beforehand, and a tradition to pay dowry, and so on. So, you know, traditions are what you make of them. if they don't mean anything to you, I think it's kinda silly to adhere to them simply because they're out there. So we didn't :D

Haha yeah, I'm just messing with you about the dress :) I'm going to do my best to keep mine a surprise, but honestly, I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter. As long as it's not too over-the-top, a white dress will be a white dress to him--at least until I'm all dressed up at the wedding.
