How odd! I'd never think to try and 'toast' in the microwave!! We have a 'toaster oven', which I love! You can do toast, but also heat up a slice of pizza or a small plate of leftovers, etc.

I would never make 'toast' that way. You would end up with hot wet bread!

But that was the remark that started the story. That, and a little imaginary girl insisting that her name was Tiffany, and that she was 6!

So I went with it. The rest followed, it often does if I don't try to fight it.

Was this only fiction?

I remember at my Grandmother's cottage, she had a cast iron wood burning stove. There was a little 4 sided 'contraption' that held 4 slices of bread, and then you put it on a hot spot and it would 'brown' the bread. This would have been late 40's,early 50's.
