This is just to say

I am also on Tumblr and Twitter. I like them both. I am the same name at both of those. Or you can just search the person who is into Marlowe and AOS. That would be me. I am sad that so many people seem to be leaving LJ. The refrain of 'it was good for a while, nothing lasts forever,' makes me quite downcast ( Read more... )

I'm staying. FB is fine for some things (lots of 'political' ranting about the "Dummy in charge") or cute memes about kids and puppies. Lots of family (kids, siblings and cousins) are there, too, as well as old High School friends,so I am cautious about sharing more personal stuff. On LJ I have friends whom I've never met in person, but who maybe know more about some aspects of me! Here I can 'vent' w/o repercussions, even share 'out there' stuff like weird dreams. I'm glad you are choosing to stay.

True! Before I joined LJ I never had online friends who were not known in real life, but I find that I really like it. I love my flesh-and-blood friends, of course, and I can even discuss Jane Austen or Hornblower with some of them, but it doesn't go as deep as the discussion here. It's easier to share some things behind the comfortable mantle of anonymity. And it's enlightening to have online friends who come from worlds and mindsets which are wildly different from my own very conservative background.

I'm staying, too! I'm on Facebook... have a page as an author, never have used my personal profile that I know of. Not sure how to get to it, other than on my phone. More encompassing on Twitter, but that is primarily for promoting my writing, although I don't stop there with that. Live Journal seems so comfortable to me, and yet so many folks aren't here anymore, or they just don't use it. I've always found it easy and straight forward to use.

Hi, thank you for this posting! I'm still here, read everything you post and am often impressed by your writing though I seldom comment because of my poor English.

Your English is very good indeed! If I could ever write in a foreign language as well as you do in English, I would be delighted. And your artwork is delightful too. I miss your drawings! ^_^

Thank you very much for your kind words. Here I meant... as for the usual, ordinary comment, yes I can manage to post, but it's not easy to find the proper words which would match well to our friend eglantine-br's beautiful writing.

I always love your comments Katriona. Your words are just the right ones.

Found myself watching 'Sharpe's Gold' last night. Thought of how we talked about those movies, (and the actors!) in Boston...

You know I am always eager for more of your writing! I want to stay here, and knowing you will too makes me considerably less downcast about all the desertions.
