The earth rolled all the way around, and here we are.

Hello. Just me today, no fiction right now. Thinking of you all, and how close I feel to people I have never met. What is meeting in person really? It is pleasant to do. I would love to see your faces, hear your real voices, see what your hands do when you are thinking. In some cases I have had some of those things. I hold tight the memory of those ( Read more... )

Hi dear friend! Thank you for this post, and good news of your daughter and the coming baby. I wish you and your family all the best!
And, I confess that I sometimes cannot understand exactly what you mean with my poor English ability because your writing is so poetic and not plain, thus I’m afraid I couldn’t catch the nuance what you expressed. Though I really agree with you about “we have to be careful of words”. Now is the time of SNS, every ordinary people say what they want to say on Twitter or other internet tools, too easily and impulsively, often too thoughtlessly - and this has lowered the value of words, spoilt it, I have keenly felt recently. And this has discouraged me from writing or drawing for I can’t help feeling that there are already too many rubbishy writing in this world. But because of this situation we should write carefully.

Yeah, all that time and distance to end up back where we started... well sort of. Since the sun orbits the center of the galaxy and the galaxy orbits who knows what, we are in fact in a different location. and depending upon how we view time, we are back where we were, and yet we are not. But as they say, life goes on, and for the most part, at least from my vantage point, it is good. Hoping to get back to writing/working on the third Stone Island Sea Story and look forward to seeing more of your writing on here. I bet you are excited for the arrival of the little one.
Sounds like you'll have a great NEW YEAR.

Just so. A place we have been, which is somehow new. The next year is going to be new and the same in a new way. I am going to have to learn to think of myself as a granny. Most days, it is only my achy back that tells me I am not 15.
