So I'm pretty much a lurker around here (and by here, I mean Merlin fandom. I'm like "I will read your Merlin fic and flail irl BUT YOU WILL NEVER KNOW IT. TAKE THAT INTERNETS!" ), and I have to say EXACTLY.

My hate for het in this show grows more every episode that Gwen is shoe-horned into someone else's personality: first ep it was Morgana, now it's Merlin. Who's she gonna be next? Arthur? Uther? GAIUS?!

But in a completely non-rant-y way, I love Puppy!Knight AKA Sir Gilbert. This ep would only be made better with Gilbert fun after winning the tournament. Seriously. So much love.

Also (last thing I swear): Gaius, ILU! WHAT KIND OF MAN HAS A LEECH TANK? A BADASS, THAT'S WHAT KIND.

I tell myself that Gwen is simply struggling to deal with all the new attention she's getting now that she's got "the girls" on display. She has yet to find that balance between the woman and the legend, the girl and the girlcushions. Now that she's pretty with cute things in her hair aswell, she doesn't know which pretty character to emulate more. So, we're going to spend this season watching her struggle and apply all their personalities to herself until she finds that real Gwen deep down, and grows as a result into the two-timing, romantically challenged Queen we all know and love.

Good to know I am not the only one very intrigued by just how interested the ladies are in Sir Gilbert William de Puppy!Knight. I want to know what else his victory entails other than waving. I mean, there's prizes, right? And there's fame and all that. I mean, puppy!knight is famous now.

One the leech tank: OMG, MERLIN? HOW SO NUMB TO PAIN? WHY DIDN'T YOU FEEL THE LEECHES BITE YOUR FACE? WAAAAT?

I don't think you do feel leeches, actually, do you? *ponders* I am basing this on that scene in Stand By Me when a kid doesn't notice he has one on his balls. No idea how realistic that is, though.

lol. My google has had weirder things than questions about leech bites, I think. Anyway, from my meandering about the net, apparently leeches do use some sort of anesthetic after they bite you, but thye have to bite you first. So there's still a pinch first.

But I imagine feeling it would be relative depending on whether you expect a bite or not, which would increase awareness to the feeling of getting bitten? You can feel mosquito bites if you expect to be getting them, at any rate. However, no matter how much I've zoned mosquitoes and biting insects out, I still notice when they're on my face. Oh Merlin...boy, you can't even blame your hair giving you mixed signals. xD

Can I just tell myself Merlin was too caught up in thoughts about the possibility of a terrific threesome with Gwen later, and therefore hadn't noticed leeches latching on to his face? He's just...incredibly distracted or something. xDxDDDD
