Okay,

Someone gave me homework at Boar's Head. It was a completely, "Huh?!" moment for me, and it had something to do with pop culture in the last half-century.

umm ask ethini or mightyjesse or her boyfriend they seem like some of the smartest nicest SCA types in the madion area..

Whew. Thank god. For a minute there, I was wracking my brain, "Do I know this guy? Do I know this guy? Wait, he looks familiar... DO I KNOW HIM???"

I mean, you seemed nice (the whole massage thing was a bonus), but you didn't have SCA in your userinfo, so I got pretty leary. I'll add you as a friend now that I know that you're a friend-of-friend connection.

heh... I can vouch for the guy too. *grin* He's pretty effin' awesome, and darned funny. (no, you haven't met him yet, he doesn't really play SCA, but has a bunch of SCA friends). Hell, we should all hang out sometime... it'd be greeeaaaaat!

...which actually translates to "You're awesome and you're the coolest."

I was actually more curious cause I'm a Russian, rather than due to my age, but anyway, what about them? (Dun worry, I won't be upset.)

No, it's not anything bad or anything. It's just more what the Cold War meant to them, as opposed to what it meant to us.
