Frustrated and taking it out on your eyes.  Sorry.  Can't be helped.  Inject humor, sarcasm, or worldly-view as needed.

Grrrrrrrr.  I gave her the stupid unit plan on Monday.  Monday.  MONDAY!!!!

We looked through it together.  I changed some stuff she wanted changed (not stuff, you'll note, that needed to be changed- just stuff that she wanted ( Read more... )

Heh. Isn't it just _great_ when people want you to be a mind reader and figure out what they think you should be doing?

Yes.

And I wonder why I went mental this semester.

Can I just stop playing? Can I just take everything she says literally and be an ass and point out when she says two conflicting things, like, "Don't hand in lesson plans more than two days in advance, because things change!" and "Hand in your unit plan the week before it's due so we have time to talk about it."

I should probably not stop playing. I only have three weeks left... I want to squeak through this and get my certification if I can. I mean, I've already graduated. I'm in no-man's-land right now.

keep playing. you can do it. once you have your certification, you can make your lesson plans the way you want when you want.

If you don't mind hearing some advice from a completely rookie source - lessons plans as far in advance as you want to make them are fine. Outlines are better though, and never EVER set your mind in stone about doing exactly what you have on the LP. Teachable moments should be grabbed and milked for all they are worth. To that effect I always include a note on my lesson plans that says "subject to change". To be able to really EFFECTIVELY do this, however, you have to know your state/district content guidelines really well ( ... )

Awesome. Not only working on your stuff, but turning her wrongs back, too! Dude, you're awesome. And happy land is good. Whoa, elephants.

Don't you just hate dealing with people who make you want to tape record all your conversations or only accept written communication? Especially when they're your boss?

Get your certification, be a fabulous teacher, and swear upon the chocolate raspberry tart that Alanna makes that you will never ever ever let your self worth be determined by how petty you can be to someone you are supposed to be guiding.
