I'm fascinated with this medium. Six months ago, I was extremely skeptical of blogging and AIM. Even though I contribute far less to the "blogging community" than others who are truly advancing this medium, I still see endless possibilities for its ability to transform our computers from devices of computation to devices of communication.

very similar to the idea distributed/p2p social software idea i was talking to you about before. marc canter terms this framework idea as a 'digital lifestyle aggregator'... i sent you some links on some papers in academia.

would like to talk to you some more if you're interested. specifically about specifics of decentralization. ie, your data repositories may act more like email (having the option to keep it all online, offline, or a mix) but the digital id portion of it will realistically need to be online all the time via some sort of keyservers...

Heya Eric, finally you are using your blogg, the idea sounds pretty interesting. Why not chat about it using your iSight on iChat (then I can join in). If you guys are serious about doing something with this, let me know. If you need the help, I would sure like to contribute. Especially if there is going to be some mac specific coding ;)
