He wasn't quite sure he was treating this as if it were a business proposition, but it was too late to turn back now. He needed to talk to her, needed to see her in person again. Five months had been far too long.

Kyouya didn't care for whatever memories could be brought simply by walking down these halls again, he didn't care at all. All he cared about was reaching room 211, knocking on that door, and seeing her again. Hopefully, he'd be able to control himself.

He reached the door and stood there for a few moments. He had to remain calm. His hormones could go fuck themselves, this wasn't a time to get caught up in remembering how she felt in his arms, how pleasantly strange the stolen kisses were how--

Goddammit, just knock. he thought quickly, taking the break from his thoughts to knock on the door. This was going to be interesting, to say the least.

Haruhi perked up immediately from her pacing as soon as she heard the knock. Her heart started pounding with anger and anticipation. He was here, back at her door, just where they started a year ago when they first went couch shopping.

After a moment of shock, she walked towards the door. She took a deep breath, regaining her calm. Or, well, anger. She placed her hand on the knob and turned, pulling it open so that she could see her ex. She paused.

"Hi. Come in."

Kyouya could tell by her voice that this wasn't going to start nicely, so hopefully it would end well. He looked down at her, momentarily caught off guard by her existence. But no, he couldn't let anything show; he couldn't let her know that he thought about her everyday. And no he wasn't about to swoop in like he usually did to kiss her. No. None of that.

"Gladly." he muttered, stepping right into her dorm, unlike the first time he visited her. He looked around, noted that it smelled differently, and relaxed his muscles. He was in there, in the new dorm, there was no turning back; not like he'd want to, anyway.

He cleared his throat and turned to face Haruhi, hands stuffed into his pockets. "So who's your new roommate?" he asked. Might as well make small-talk.

She moved out of the way, closing the door behind him, arms crossed over her body defensively. "Did you really come here to ask who my new roommate is..?" she asked, incredulous. It was pretty obvious he was scrounging for something to talk about, so after a pause and a sigh Haruhi answered without looking at him, "Her name is Maka, she's a freshman. She's..a lot like I was at that age." Before you happened.

"What are you doing back here?" she was looking at him when she asked. That wasn't the question she really wanted the answer to, but it was a start. She wanted him to know he was scum. He was scum and he was wrong to have left and she missed him, more than she would ever admit.
