I hope you all are having a wonderful December (I would say break, but many of you are working and therefore don't get a "break" until later this week). Dan and I had a WONDERFUL time in MN. We did a ton of shopping (he's an angel and took me to like 15 different stores in 3 days and at at least 3 malls looking for a gift for me to give his parents), went hiking in 7 degree weather (we were the first and only ones to do the trail that day- it was SO pretty. Cold and slippery and by the end I was exhausted, but so worth it), and went to hear the National Lutheran Choir (all I can say is, "WAAAAANT". Can I move to MN and join? Would they even take me? OMG) among other things like X-Mas decorating, watching football, and hanging with his family. I love my parents and all, but I really wish I could have stayed for X-Mas there and hung out with all his siblings and nephews/niece. Oh well, maybe next year.
Saturday we loaded up the Morano with Dan's bed and sundry other things he'll need for his new apartment (which is making it's home in my apt until he's able to get keys to his new place). We made it most of the way with minimal trouble and snow, but the storm was hot on our heels the whole way. We spent a nice Sat and Sun mainly curled up together, enjoying our final days together.
He dropped me off at the airport this morning, then met up w/ his sister, brother-in-law and their 2 adorablz children and headed back to MN while I hoped on a plane to StL. We just went out to dinner w/ Scott's girlfriend. She's his first and it's the first time I've met her. It's just a little weird... They are all curled up together watching a movie downstairs. ewwwww
Tomorrow I have a Dr apt. Something funky has been going on w/ me this past week and I really hope they are able to figure it out. If the weather holds, I'm also supposed to meet a friend from high school for lunch. Wednesday we'll do the small family gift exchange. Thursday will be long. We'll start off at my Mom's sister's house and do the brunchy thing and gifts. Then we hit the road for the first leg of the drive to TX to visit Dad's side. We'll finish up the drive on Friday and stay there until I think Monday (sounds like we'll probably head out Mon afternoon and get part of the drive in, then finish it Tues). After that, I'm pretty much free. I'll probably do a lot of nothing in those final days.
So since I'm not really sure when in the next few days/week I'll have internet, I wanted to wish you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS, wherever you may be. Hope it's filled with lots of love, joy, peace (and hopefully a little Jesus). Everyone be safe on their travels!!
