Hmm, that's a problem.

Your mom's right, you should tell him no if he starts barking, and keep letting the person touch you, and then once he stops you should give him lots of praise.

All this time I was thinking that he was trying to be the alpha male... but read what user AUDROCK posted when I asked this in a dog community:
Actually, your dog has made YOU the Alpha. It's his "job" to defend you because you're the top dog. They are pack animals, which means they'd die defending the top dog (you). You need to show him that this person is o.k. Even if you have to do it with everyone. For example, if someone comes up to you, turn to Sidekick and say in a calm voice, "It's o.k." and give him kisses. Then touch the other person. Then touch Sidekick again. Trust me, this works.
Also, if you're with the pup and someone comes up to you and he starts to get snarly, just say (don't yell it), "Noooooo," like you're warning him before it happens.

doesn't that make more sense? well, It does to me..

And kid, think about it...Sidekick isn't like Bailey, who could seriously hurt one of us if he got nasty. He can make a lot of noise, but other than that, it's really just annoying. And you just have to convince him that no one is going to hurt you. He's not going anywhere. I promise.
