I was reading this Roger Ebert article about Best Of lists and how he feels about such things. As I was reading it I realized that with a lot of lists we fall into the sports fan mentality. When you love something you start to identify with it. Then along comes a competition (the list) and when "our team" doesn't do well we get mad. It feels like
