Three thousand years ago, a baby was stolen from the village of tomb robbers. From his first breath those who wielded magic could sense his power, the thieves hungered for it. Thus under a cloak of darkness the baby was stolen from the village and raised into slavery of the robbers. His will never allowed to grow, he stayed submissive and obedient until one day they committed the ultimate heist. Stealing the newborn prince of Egypt they fled into the desert, never realizing that the High Seeress had seen the abduction. More over, said Seeress allowed for it to happen so that the boy that had been stolen could be brought into the palace.
The boy, Mahaado, was given charge to protect the Prince even if it was with his untrained magic. Through the innocence that only a baby could have, the baby made Mahaado feel happy, thus giving the idea to steal the baby himself. Determined to bring to baby back to his family, Mahaado murdered his owner and fled into the desert with the infant. Doing so brought him into contact with the High Priests of the Pharaoh and placed under their care. So that he could grow up and serve as the Prince's own guardian.
If only his new master liked him. A slave by upbringing, unknowingly a thief by birth, the High Magician loathed his new student. Whippings and assaults were the norm of the child who was only seven summers old when they met took place. Mahaado's Ka had already formed, the few years of abuse giving rise to the Magician of Black Chaos, a powerful Ka that his master felt should belong to an older, more distinguished magician. This the High Magician used the Ring and stole Mahaado's Ka, sealing it into stone. The Ka, his Shadow Self, now sealed Mahaado lost the will to live and his focus... For a time...
A mindless student for about a year Mahaado began manifesting the Magician of Illusions, another sign of his power that his master did not approve of. Upon one night in which Mahaado was being beaten, the Prince, now old enough to walk, found the pair. And subsequently got hurt in the process, causing the chain of events that allowed Mahaado to stay with the Prince nearly full time. Protected a bit more from his Master, as the Ring continued to corrupt the Magician.
Over time Mahaado had begun to make friends, first among the apprentices of the High Priests, then with Set, a boy from the streets. Adopted into the palace by the Prince, Mahaado got to spend a great deal of time with Set. The pair bonded quite nicely, settling into the role of protector to the prince. Set teaching Mahaado to stand up for himself and speak his mind, Mahaado teaching Set healing Magic as a thanks.
Until Mahaado went about trying to find out if the evil that had seeped into the Ring could be reversed. When he learned about its creation, the sacrifice to make it, and the truth behind the orphan the prince adopted off the streets. For years he had been taught how to treat nobility, how to view himself as the worthless being he was born as. But while Set had taught him to respect himself, Mahaado had to respect the laws of the Gods and severed his friendship with Set. That unspoken betrayal left Set more responsive to the manipulation of the Sennen Rod, and a wound that lasted for over 3000 years.
The result of the creation of the Sennen Items is already documented as is the creation of the Dark Magician.
