Bill knew he was far too warm to be alone. It'd been quite some time since he'd woken up this content, this calm. Something had gone different. He cracked an eye open, and saw Tonks.
Oh yeah.
With a little grin, he leaned over, kissing her forehead gently before pulling her closer and closing his eyes again.
Tonks woke slowly to find herself being held in Bill's arms, something she'd never really expected to happen. It was warm, and felt very safe and she liked it a lot. Things had been so tumultuous last night that she hadn't really thought about things past getting Bill to listen and understand.
Now she had time to lie there and just enjoy the feeling of being with him. Stretching a bit and opening her eyes with a yawn, all she saw was chest for a moment. Shifting, she got a better view and smiled.
Bill nuzzled her hair, last night already gone from his thoughts actually.
"Morning," he mumbled, his voice still scratchy from sleep.
"Morning," she replied. Tonks couldn't help but snuggle closer. He was so warm, after all, and sliding an arm around his waist made it easier to get close. She would fully admit that the movement of her fingers against his skin, however, was due solely to her desire to touch him.
Bill hissed slightly, as a bruise from last night made itself known.
"... it would appear he got a few lucky punches in, wouldn't it?"
The woman in Tonks was vastly amused that Bill had gone off to pick a fight over all of this. It was really a bit romantic, in the end, although she'd never admit that out loud.
"Looks like. You know, you could have brought him in for me while you were at it, it would have saved me loads of work. Hunting Zabini without him is much easier. Just follow the blood."
Still, she pulled back and rolled him a bit to make sure there was no permanent damage to him. Tonks was quite attached at this point, after all, and wanted him healthy and whole.
Bill let her check his wounds, as there were quite a few more than he would admit. Still, he grinned.
"Oh no. Now, you see, he's living in the fear that I can find him at ANY Time. I want to make him suffer a bit first."
He wasn't in too bad of shape, although she winced at a few of the bruises. "Really, Bill, has no one taught you to shift to the left?" She prodded gently at a few of them.
Giving up, she lay back down and grinned wickedly at him. "You beat up my ex because he made you angry and jealous. Aside from the whole Death Eater thing, I feel like I'm in school again. Although really, I didn't date in school, so maybe not."
Bill pulled her down for a little kiss. "I didn't date anyone as good as you in school. Or fall in love. So... well, damn you, this is new."
He grinned, wincing slightly. "And it doesn't do a lot of good to shift to the left when he's hitting you on the left."
"See, that's where kicking is useful. He's short, you know. It's why he's so obsessed with my boots now." Tonks pet him sweetly, kissing all the different bruises and scratches. "I've never had anyone fight over me before. I'm so flattered."
Moving up to kiss him now, she finished by nipping at the tip of his nose. "You're in love with me."
"I'm completely in love with you," Bill said with a little smile, running his hands up and down her back. "But if he mentions fucking you again, I will go and just kill him, all right?"
"He's just doing it to make you angry, although if you want to, please do feel free. It will clear time for me to pursue other interests." True, hunting Darien was endless fun, but if Bill really felt the need, well. She wouldn't stand in his way. "I can't believe you're in love with me. Three years, Bill Weasley, and all of a sudden you just change your mind? Not that I'm not loving it, mind you."
"I didn't change my mind about anything," Bill said comfortably, stretching out on his back. "I just thought that was all you wanted from me. I thought it'd be enough, really. It wasn't, but..."
He grinned, sort of sheepishly. "It's been about two years falling now."
"Wish you'd said something," she offered, climbing on top of him. "I wouldn't have had to take my last couple of holidays alone. Could have had company, and more."
Tonks loved lying on top of him, and she went about it with comfortable enthusiasm, ending with her forehead pressed against his. "Because really, I've been lying around, waiting for you to make up your mind."
"Well, I'm a complete berk," he admitted, kissing along her hairline. "Took a little bit of time, that's all."
"I'd heard the Weasley boys were all a bit slow when it comes to girls." Tonks squirmed and laughed under his kisses. "Only Percy's managed to catch and keep one, you know. The rest of you? Termed hopeless amongst the ladies. Although you have quite the reputation."
"Had, love," Bill murmured, running his hand up her bare back. "Haven't slept with anyone but you for three years now, after all."
"I know." Tonks had kept quite a fierce eye on that, and had been surprised to see that he hadn't looked elsewhere. It had been one of the first things that made her suspicious in the end. "I've watched."
"... I didn't want to see if you did. I couldn't make a claim, you know? And just thinking about it made me angry. So... I ignored it. Just in case." He was at least sheepish.
"Then I won't tell you about my torrid side affair with George, or Charlie, will I?" she teased. "After all, it would just get you all worked up. I'll also not mention the love child Kingsley and I are hiding away."
"... oh, that's just gross," Bill mutters, teasing. "My brothers aren't near worth your time."
"I have to admit you've kept me well occupied all this time. And too sore most times to even consider taking on anyone else. After all, who could compare to you, in the end?" Tonks kissed him again. "Not to mention those knots you keep me tied up in."
"When you leave, I worry. When you're here, I'm happy. That didn't change the whole time through the three years. That adds up to love in my book." He nuzzled her cheek.
