Early Summer Before the Term Began

Elizabeth wandered through her room, picking up various articles of clothing. She was leaving for the Farley's soon, and apparently there wasn't enough space for her to bring six suitcases. Stuffing another pair of shoes into a bag, she hoped that she wouldn't forget anything important. She glanced around at her spacious and untidy room and thought ( Read more... )

James leaned against the frame of the door, chuckling softly as e watched his little sister pack. He was glad she was heading to the Farley's. He was to move into his own flat soon and it would be a busy time with him starting his Healer training at St. Mungos.

"Are you sure you've packed quite enough shoes, lovey?" he asked affectionately, not moving from the doorway. He smirked as he teased her. While he wouldn't much miss their parents, he would miss having a room so close to hers during holidays - not to mention not being right there at Hogwarts for her last three terms there. Who was to protect her when he wasn't around? Perhaps he'd have a chat with the Farley boy - Will, wasn't it? He seemed a good enough bloke and someone had to look out for his baby sister in his stead.

"I've still got a few more," she noted truthfully. "I can't help it, but you know you don't mind. It makes me easy to shop for during Christmas." She looked at him and paused, frowning. "I'm going to be okay, you know. I don't think I'll see you again until next year but I will write. And I'll miss you." She looked up to him, hoping that it wouldn't bee too long.

James grinned and came over to ruffle her hair. "That's a good point, poppet," he told her. He shook his head and laughed a little at how well she knew his thoughts.

"Of course you will," he replied with much more confidence than he felt at the moment. "And you best come to visit, eh? And write me a ton." He gave her a stern look, letting her known he was serious about the writing.
