This chapter is for the one, the only
yuniquekimchi. She is actually the main reason (apart from yunjae, ofc) that I'm still writing. Bb, the feels you give me are... ::::::A::::::
I frowned as I crossed my arms. This Jung is really quite annoying sometimes.
Oh wait… I’m a Jung too! … oops.
I quickened my pace to match his and within a few strides, managed to walk side-by-side with him. Glancing up at him, I poked him on the shoulder a few times, only to be met with utterly nothing but silence on his part.
Rolling my eyes, I poked him again, harder this time. It worked I guess, since he grunted in response but that was all that I got.
“Yah, what’s wrong?” I questioned but he kept his lips shut.
You don’t want tell me? Fine, be that way!
I reached out and grabbed his arm roughly, successfully slowing him down by a little. I could swear I saw him roll his eyes before he stopped walking and looked straight at me.
“Yunho, what’s up with you? Why are you so angry all of a sudden?” Trying to pacify him, I ran my hand up and down his arm soothingly, trying to coax an answer out of him. He let out a sigh before shaking his head.
“Are you really that clueless, Jae?”
Huh? Me, the wonderful, clueless? What?
Before I could even open my mouth to ask him just what the hell he was talking about, he was already several metres ahead of me.
Damn those long legs of his.
He took long strides to the car and opened the door to the passenger seat for me, silently urging for me to get in. I folded my arms defiantly as I stared him down.
“Can you please explain to me why you are PMS-ing?” He bit his lip in annoyance and shot me that look.
“Can you please get into the car, Jae?”
Pshh and I thought I was the girl in the relationship. I sighed and relented, slipping into the car obediently.
He followed suit and we sat in silence for a few seconds before he broke it.
“Do you honestly not know?”
“Know what? Honestly Yunho, can you stop speaking in riddles because I have absolutely no idea what you’re trying to say! I’m not very smart you know,” I commented as I tapped my fingers against my temple.
“Do you honestly not know that Dongwook likes you?”
I gave him the look.
I’m sorry, I just had to do that.
“Wait, what? Dongwook likes who?” I looked at him incredulously as I shook my head in disbelief, “How could you have possibly come to that incredibly stupid and random conclusion? Jesus unicorns have more logic than you!”
“Jae, I’m being serious here. Have you seen the way he looks at you?” Yunho asked again as he placed his hands on the wheel and stared off into nothingness.
“No… I don’t really analyse the way people looking at me, not exactly a favourite pastime of mine, you know.”
“Listen to me darling, he’s into you.” He frowned and looked me down before grabbing my hand possessively, “I’m not making things up!”
“Yunho, baby, will you chillax? Dongwook is just a friend and besides, even if he did have the hots for me, I already have a fatass occupying almost all the space in my heart, right?”
He left his mouth hanging slightly open for a split second, as if he was about to spit out another rebuttle but my statement caused him to smile and nod his head subtly.
“I love you too.”
I smiled and took his hand, stroking the back of it gently, “If you’re gonna start getting jealous of every guys around me, you’re going to tire yourself out you know.”
“It’s not my fault, you’d attract women and men like a rotten piece of meat attracts flies.”
“Did you just compare me to a piece of rotten meat?”
“No I didn’t, Your Highness, please forgive me.”
He twisted the car keys and the engine roared to life and drove along the familiar path that led us home.
“By the way, I bought something for you to make up for the last time, it’s in the backseat.” He said as he bobbed his head along to the beat of the music from the radio.
Raising an eyebrow, I turned around and saw a plastic bag sitting on the chair. I reached over and smiled when I caught a glimpse of what was inside.
I pressed a kiss to his cheek and smiled, “I was just in the mood for some champong, thank you darling.”
“You’re very welcome.”
“How was school today?”
“Can you not make it seem as if I’m going to school and not teaching in the school?” He whined
“Your IQ is that of a child’s, not my fault.” I shrugged my shoulders and whipped out my phone to check for any unread text messages.
There were ten, from Changmin.
“Is that Changmin?” Yunho asked as he peered at the screen of my phone. I frowned and shifted it away.
“Why? Scared I’m texting some hot guy who might take me away from you?”
“That, is constantly one of my worries, my little cupcake.” He leaned towards me and kissed my cheek gently, “So it is Changmin.”
… he did that on purpose so he could take a peek at my screen.
“Yes, it is, you big doofus. He just wanted to remind me that he would expect me to be up by 11 because we’re supposed to go out for lunch. Apparently, he had to ask for your permission to ask his best friend out?” I raised an eyebrow and all Yunho did was laugh.
“He didn’t ask for permission, if that’s what he told you. He told me that if I continued to deprive him of time with his bestest friend, he would twist my balls off, shove them down my throat and prevent me from impregnating you ever again.”
I rolled my eyes, “Typical.”
Yunho parked the car in the basement carpark and decided that it would be too dangerous for me who was carrying a child to carry a bowl of soup (what is wrong with this man’s logic?!) and insisted that he carry it instead. Thus, I had to endure the entire ride up the elevator and the walk back to our apartment listening to him brag about how caring and thoughtful a father he was.
… I really, really, really don’t understand him sometimes.
He placed the container of soup onto the kitchen counter and instructed me to go change before coming out to eat my (very late) dinner. I rolled my eyes at his nagging but obeyed anyway. By the time I had come out, the now piping hot soup was now presented in a traditional Korean-style metal pot and he looked very proud of himself.
“Am I supposed to praise you because you managed to transfer soup from a container to a pot?” I asked sarcastically as I laughed inwardly at his saddened, puppy-dog look.
“No no I’m joking, you did a wonderful job, thank you.” I took a sip of the spicy soup and sighed. I have been deprived of my champong for way too long now.
“You’re welcome.” He commented before reaching into his bag for a thick stack of papers and placing them onto the table before giving a loud sigh.
“Do you need to mark all of that?”
“By tonight, yes.”
I frowned, “But… it’s already so late, can you do that in time? What are those,” I reached out and flipped the cover of one paper open, “Essays?”
“I can, if I stay up all night, I guess. I’ve done this quite a few times already so I’m used to it.” He shrugged his shoulders, “Eat your food, I’m sure you’re starving!”
“Thanks.” I gave him a slight smile before I scooped up a bit and help it to his mouth, “Ahh.”
He grinned and opened his mouth happily, eating it all in one mouthful.
“So how’s work?” He asked absentmindedly as he put on his work-specs. He apparently needs them because the handwriting of some students look like ants having a giant orgy on a piece of paper.
Oh my fuck that was disturbing.
“Good, I guess. Junsu needs to stop being a sexist bitch and hire some female staff or something. They’re much better at cleaning up than I am.” I pursed my lips together and grimaced at the thought of that disgustingly greasy kitchen.
Yunho laughed heartily, “How the heck do you manage, I wonder.”
Shrugging my shoulders, I replied, “Oh it’s not that bad. Dongwook is really good at cleaning and stuff so he helps me sometimes! I don’t know how he cleans the dishes you know, they’re not just clean, they’re squeaky clean. Literally.”
I didn’t notice that Yunho’s face immediately darkened after I mentioned the name ‘Dongwook’, not as if he wasn’t already dark before that…
“Oh, that must be fun, huh?” He spat, venom lacing his voice. Placing down my spoon, I sighed.
“Honestly, please stop being so paranoid. Dongwook is a nice guy and he’s just a friend.”
“I know, I know but I still get angry whenever you mention him. It’s just… the regular jealously acting up I guess.” He mumbled under his breath grudgingly.
I sighed and shook my head as I patted him on the back, “Continue marking.”
Approximately half an hour later, I threw the now-empty container away , washed up, changed and went back to the living room, pulled out the chair next to Yunho and sat down. He frowned as he placed his pen down to stare at me.
“Jae, honey, what are you doing? It’s almost 12, go to bed!”
I grabbed a magazine from the pile on the table and looked at him, “Well, you’re gonna be pretty lonely marking those papers all night, aren’t you?”
His eyes widened for a split second before his lips stretched into a warm smile, the smile that I keep falling in love with over and over again.
I opened the magazine and absentmindedly flipped to a random page, deliberately dodging the smiles he was giving me.
If he saw me now, he’d surely laugh because my entire face was bright red and I had the goofiest smile on my face.
“I’ll go make a hot drink for you. Coffee, tea or hot chocolate?” I asked as I pushed myself up from the chair, immediately turning my body away from him so he wouldn’t be able to see my face.
“You?”
I huffed really loudly and heard him give a low, rich chuckle, “Hot chocolate.”
“Okay.”
“And Jae?”
I replied from the kitchen, “Yeah?”
“I love you.”
I smiled. Who needs hot chocolate when I can already feel this warm and fuzzy with Yunho in my life?
