BTW, for the first case, there is no need to cut anything. The same effect can be reached with simple injection numbing these nerves.

Both of these options you've been given sound way too heavy handed for my own choices. But I can appreciate that being in so much pain you'd pretty much do anything to improve things. I have no idea how old you are, but please don't be coerced into drastic surgery by the chop happy orthopedic surgeons.
