I can recommend the following vendors wholeheartedly - all of them did an awesome job for us, in every way - and they weren't awesomely expensive either ( ... )

We had our wedding waterside, in a small grassy park just into esquimalt (the name escapes me now, but it was beautiful). Our reception was at Swans, in their 40-person special events room (exposed brick walls, beautiful art - all we had to do was bring flowers and candles).

We also did a rehearsal picnic at Fort Rodd Hill and a goodbye brunch at my home. Fort Rodd provided us with a tent and tables, and we were able to pre-pay everyone's admission. It worked really well.

Oh, and my shower was at Wild Heather tea Room on Oak Bay Ave - amazing food, half the price of the Empress.
