I saw this earlier on someone's journal and it totally pissed me off:

People keep saying that IB (International Baccalaureate) isn't worth it. Let me tell you why IB is worth it. When you want to get into a tough school and you didn't do IB, the school will ask you why you didn't do IB and not let you in. Yes, IB is tough, but I mean, is college

I'm not even sure what IB is and both my sister and myself both got into excellent schools (talking top 20 here) and neither of us did the program. WTF? Neither did many of my friends at aforementioned top school.

as someone who knows far too much about this BS...let me tell yo one and for all,...it doesn't matter that much. As a matter of fact, it really doesn't matter that mcuh where you go to college. It matters where you go to grad school...thats about it...and by the time you specified your field THAT much- the grad school decision will be simple.
