So I emailed the new director of the equine program at OSU to ask if it's too late to get into the colt training program. She finally got back to me and apparently I need to make a video of myself handling my horse. She wants to see me mount and dismount from both sides and handle him from the ground and ride him ( Read more... )

English I'd lean towards a mounting block, western I'd lean towards without. Depends on how quickly you mount. I don't think it's abusive to not use one, assuming your tack won't slip.

Set the camera on a post/car/something?

What about the stable down the road. The one across from morriseys by the fairgrounds. Can you pay like $10 to use their arena?

Yeah it's now Walluski Valley Ranch im gonna give them a call.

Really though it would probably be most convenient to call up Beth and ride good ol' Nickers. She is SO hard to get on the phone though.
