This is a semi-lazy post...just look at the subject I chose to write. Mega-long post
First, I finally got my feedburner password reset and pleasantly discovered that I now have 5 subscribers! woot woot! But I only remember cajoling only 2 or 3 friends. Does that mean that the remaining subscribers subscribed with their free will? double woot woot!. I'm so easy to please I can be a Playboy Bunny. Like Oh my gawddd! That is soooo keeewl.
Second, I am getting the hang of handling my finances. I had Au the househelp to organize all my bills so I can write on the calendar when exactly I get charged for the utilities and other household bills. I am either to downgrade my phone plan or totally eliminate it. And I am emotionally and mentally prepared to use my entire 13th month pay to pay off my credit card bill.
Third, I am engaged again to my work and team. I should write about work engagement which is something I only picked up here in SGS. Unless one is totally engaged with what he or she does, misery is sure to be at every corner.
Fourth, I will be going to the dentist for my long overdue appointment. My bestfriend Patricia the Panda just had 3 teeth extracted and claims that her next advocacy will be No to Tooth Decay. I'm reserving $100 or Php5000 just for teeth cleaning and other fillings that need replacing. I am in no rush to get any of my teeth extracted. I almost bit the dentist's hand when I had my last tooth extraction.
Fifth, I am very happy with the results of my last training class. They were all very energetic, almost all of them really showed amazing improvement in their communication skills and overall behavior, and everyone received a job offer.
Sixth, lately I've been thinking of buying Christmas gifts for one person in particular. Not my dad, not my bf, not even one of my inner planets. For several nights now a bee of an idea would buzz through my brain and it was about getting something for Au the househelp. And now that I have my hands on the keyboard and I can think a bit clearer about it, I think I've been having those ideas because I haven't really given Au the househelp anything but extra stuff that I got tired of or stuff I didn't like from the get go. Well, that and a room to tidy up and laundry to finish. Hmmmm.
Seventh, I am enjoying Anime again. I will scour the street vendors for bootleg copies of Avatar: the Last Air Bender and Naruto Shippuden. The former I've seen a few times in Nickelodeon but only really got to appreciate after reading multiple wikipedia entries about it. I've seen Naruto and Naruto Shippuden in the past but have never really followed through. I'm planning to finish Death Notes this long weekend.
Eight, I treated my self by buying a new messenger bag from Girbaud earlier. Patricia helped me indulge because she actually keeps count of the stuff I buy for my self. And according to our last count, for the more than two years I've been with my current company and my three promotions, I've bought a total of 2 items for myself, 4 if you include the two pairs of work shoes I bought a year ago. The "indulgent" items I bought were the Guess bag I bough on my sixth month with SGS and the Sony Ericsson I bought to replace my 7 year old Nokia 3310 phone. Patricia is totally supportive of my quest for financial health but she's the first to admit that she wants see me reward my self every now and then.
I think after being broke for so long and having to borrow from family members in the past had made me really frugal to a certain extent. I consider three things as my indulgences: the 100 pesos tricycle ride from my house to Clark Maingate, my twice a month massages, and my monthly issue of Preview Magazine. Ok, and maybe a box of cinnamon scented incense every two weeks which I stopped buying last August.
Ninth, I am enrolling in the green belt of Six Sigma next week which is for me another step towards cementing a serious career in the corporate world and a future interesting topic when I become a professional makeup artist. How many makeup artists do you know have any Six Sigma belts?
Tenth, I'm happy that I'll be turning 28 in a week and I have to start preparing my thank you letters for my friends and family since I won't be throwing any birthday bash.....in fact, shouldn't it be that I'll be on the receiving end of a birthday party and not the other way around? Anyhoo, I'm turning a year older, and for someone who looks forward to each birthday, this one is a going to be a great birthday!
