Powell's presentation before the UNSC yesterday made plenty of waves: it's been gratifying to see a substantial number of people (some openly, and others more reluctantly) moving towards the idea that, no, we really haven't been making a big fuss over nothing and no, it isn't that we just want to grab that big puddle of oil under Saddam's fat ass ( Read more... )

I never made the connection between "City on the Edge of Forever" and "Becoming Part 2", despite the fact that they are both favorite episodes of mine. I guess it is because I never see any of the old Star Trek episodes on broadcast TV anymore :_(

Regarding peace being "the way", there are many types of peace. I would prefer a war that brings a just peace later, than have an unjust peace now.

Out of curiosity, now that we've found out that this was in fact a scam to get oil and bids for Halliburton, that the plans to go to war were laid years before, that Powell presented faulty conclusions based on what turned out to be amde-up data, that 50,000 people are dead and there's no clear end in sight, do you still think it was worth it?
