Alternately, you could try ServiceMagic, which is free, and in which THE CONTRACTORS CALL YOU FIRST. You put in your ZIP code and a description of the problem and the time frame in which you want it solved, and the little black box at ServiceMagic churns out some people who could do that thing. You can look them up and see what other ServiceMagic customers think of them. But they call you. I find this irresistable. We got someone to clean our gutters by this method, in record time, and he was fine.
