Belated 583 Reaction :P

May 13, 2010 23:00

I was going to write a reaction to this chapter but first I was waiting for the Binktopia scanlation, and then I got distracted by Luffy, and then the weekend was insane, and then I started my summer job, and...

yeah.

But this chapter was amazing and I wanted to get my thoughts down - if only for myself - before reading the next chapter and also share some Luffyness with everyone. :D (er - this means I haven't read chapter 584, so if people could avoid spoiling me in the comments, that'd be great.)

For anyone wondering a) how one gets distracted by Luffy and b> how this prevents reaction posts:

like so.

XD

I can't get over how... indomitable tiny!Luffy is.

He's different from first-chapter!Luffy. A lot more... zen? Calmer and happier somehow - not so desperate to prove himself anymore. Although he's holding a grudge about the mountain bandits. XD When he repeated Shanks' words about not getting angry I couldn't decide if I wanted to laugh or cheer or squish him more. XD Oh Luffy. &hearts

Oh Ace. Do you think he first started running around trying to learn about Roger after hearing Dadan call him a demon child?

Speaking of whom - Dadan you suck. But Ace told Luffy to tell her goodbye, why!?!!?!?!?!!??!

Her "And don't tell Garp!" Made me just... queasy inside. >_<

And Luffy just lets it brush off him. How is he so strong?

(On another note, this is the third time we've heard about Garp abandoning Luffy in the jungle - when do we get to see that flashback? And from the sounds of it, this would have been before Luffy ate the Gomu Gomu no Mi o_o Garp what??!?!!)

And still, Ace is more heartbreaking the more we learn about him. Oda, give us a break.

I am worried about Sabo - he wasn't at Marinford. He wasn't in Ace's boat when Ace set off to become a pirate. This won't end well. :( Randomly, do you think he knows about Ace's parentage?

Ace - how did he go from asking Garp about his grandson to trying to kill Luffy when he finally shows up?

What are you thinking here Ace?

And I can't decide whether to be horrified that Ace's reaction to Luffy finally catching up to him is "Kill it" kill it with fire or be amused that he's mostly all talk.

Finally, Luffy's poker face fail is hysterical. XD

Luffy you owned this chapter. You and your crazy determination to make friends with Ace and your complete refusal to feel sorry for yourself. &hearts It means nothing, I'm sure, but does anyone else think it's interesting that the last thing Garp tells Luffy is to get along with Ace?
