Went heron stalking today. For the second time this week, no heron sign. I'm worried that he might have gotten washed away with the storms.... -

Heron Stalking
Got some insider info on the whereabouts of a yellow-crowned night heron on campus and went searching, but the rain was probably too much for it--the stream rushing too fast to make "crawfishing" viable. I'm really excited, though, because at least I know it has returned. And, though I didn't find the heron, I found a beautiful old tree--a birch ( Read more... ) -
Foggy Sunday
Not exactly the weather I'd been hoping for... I'd hoped for a bright morning with overnight rain drops glistening on the grass. Instead, woke to fog hiding the buildings and the river and making my planned excursion to the zoo a less than exciting prospect.
