At the end of May, the last day of May, there is to be a BookCon at the Jarvits Center in Manhattan.  Good things about this: I love books!  I am writing books!  I no longer have to work Saturdays!  Cary Elwes will be there!  I could "network" with publishers!  Bad things about this: It costs money (but it's only $35, and I'll be making more, so

Maybe you should discuss it with your dad? While your other family members might have expectations of you, its really your dad's feelings that are the most important. If he's understanding of your career interests, he might be perfectly fine with you being out for part of the day. It kind of just depends on what he expects, so I'd talk it over with him.
