Thanks for the link! I'm not very aware of the blogosphere on Wordpress in general. Did you read Paul Anthony Shortt's reply in the SR thread re: Why is attempted rape more unforgiveable than attempted murder? the best summation of the cultural baggage and the differences in how victims are treated is the one best I've ever seen. I'm tempted to quote it on my LJ because I've run up against this argument here in LJ fandom, even with friends, and I'm generally at a loss as to the right thing to say. Although I doubt that they'd be interested in reading it anyway if they already have a pre-determined opinion
