Same thoughts here. While I didn't get everything I needed from Harry Potter (because I have a thing for hot blonde guys seeking redemption that wasn't fed enough) and really, really love Katniss for who she is, Harry Potter really is the better series, mostly because of the amount of creative detail that permeates every page.
i haven't watched the movies or read the books (hush now) but I LOVE original and interesting movie trailers. A trailer is supposed to make me want to see the movie, yo, not give me the entire rundown of the story so I don't have to waste my money, and bore me in the process.
I actually read The Hunger Games in response to seeing people getting al excited about the first movie. I loved the books, and got excited for the first movie myself, but then I was a bit disappointed. I thought the second movie did a better job of conveying the emotional impact the books had. So I hope it was the start of a trend, and this movie will be better still.
I would say on first read, I enjoyed Harry Potter and Hunger Games equally, but Harry Potter is more re-readable.
