I love the way you suggest that Kirk and Spock's relationship is destined, that Kirk's life was always just building towards that first meeting on the Enterprise :)
The chapter is very moving and I'm so glad you've shown Kirk's feelings of sadness and grief for Lori. That he's sparing some thought for her, even as he's ready to move forward. I'm glad. She deserves this.
