Where do I go to, my lovelies?

Just to make it plain: if I don't post here very often it isn't that I'm being rude or neglecting you guys on LJ, it's simply that I already have a well-established blog over in the terra incognita (from whose Bourne no Jason is returned, with or without golden fleece) that is Blogger. The puns are no better there, I assure you, but should you wish ( Read more... )

Just for completeness you might want to add Andy Pfister, chiron14 to your flist. And the Eyre offspring are alexofthatilk and orientalopium. We've been using private posts to keep up to date with the unfolding drama which is life in Selby of late. deepthirdman is Dave Bullock. Several of these are totally blank, BTW, just used for access purposes only.

Incidentally, have you worked out how to friendslock posts and the like? Sometimes it's useful.

News of the day - Mary Partridge has a slipped disk. Age creeps up on all of us...

Friendslocking - I can guess what it is but no, haven't a clue. Bear in mind that a few weeks ago I didn't even know LJ existed. Clearly this is a whole way of using LJ I haven't encountered, as Blogger doen't work in that way ( ... )

OK. You can select how visible any post is individually on the page from which you post a new entry. There's a drop-down menu which allows you to choose different settings:

Apologies for the silence. We haven't sent Christmas cards for a year or two. We have so much else on, they get neglected I am ashamed to say. Suffice it to say, your ears should burn fairly frequently, and certainly every time I pick up the Times Crossword (I was getting quite good at it until I got too daft to concentrate) and see adverts for the Edinburgh Festival. IPOF I use the Times2 as a touchstone to keep my brain working forwards at all, and have the Ward now hooked on getting the main word on the Polygon each morning.

I shall be in Edinburgh briefly late this year - based in Durham for a term. Perhaps we might meet. I reached this via Nel. Nowadays I am based in Oz. James Hargrave = jfh@unimelb.edu.au (who still thinks about the Beachcomber version, 'that Bourne from which no Hollingsworth...; doing the Argonaut thing on the way back, well cruising around the Black Sea)

Good grief. It's out-of-the-woodwork month and no mistake. Let me know when you'll be in Edinburgh: it would be rather jolly to meet again.

Glad you are nearly up to date with all the soap opera which stands for selby life. I think the memes are good fun as a general rule. I cadge most of them from Gillo's page, I have no idea where she gets them from, nor how she manages to have so many pictures amongst her text. Perhaps when I see her next, I shall get her to show me how.

Remind me, luv. It's easy html coding and the LJ FAQs take you through most of it. You just need to upload your photos to a hosting service like PhotoBucket and link to that.

As to the memes - have you seen the size of my friendslist? Mostly Buffy writers, of course, but they spread these memes like the virii they are.
