Lacking Voice

When I was in my senior year of high school, I took advantage of the Running Start program and spent that last year of high school taking college classes. One of my favorite classes was creative writing. One of the comments my instructor made towards the end of the semester, and he read several of my stories, is that my writing tended to be

The easiest way to get past it is to just write until the end, then read it over and over, then edit what you feel needs edited. Never analyze it as you write it or you'll have no desire at all.
But anyway, once you've written it, edited it, put it aside for a bit, then come back to it and re-read it again and see if you still like the way you've left it. That's what I tend to do, may be worth a try :)

Yeah, you are right. Now to actaully do that. That's the tough part :)

I'd be more than happy to edit and make notes, or even re-write parts to see if you like then or decide whether they have a "voice". I know I did that once for you, with no result. I have no idea how it could get lost in the mail and I feel like a total asshole because I never got it back to you. I'd be more than willing to give it another go, send it priority with the two dollar insurance to be sure that you get my imput and editing back. Then consider it, then get it published! I also know a few people in more than a few places where you can send the stories to :)

If you wouldn't mind, I'd love for you to re-send me your stories, or whatever fiction you're working on at the moment, and completely edit and check it for you. I'd really like that. I'd also like to just write nonsense back and forth like we used to. I rarely have such a chance to have somewhat of a 'pen pal' :)
