Ha!! Mad Hatter's party or not, we wouldn't be dressed up in all that formal stuff. My Christmas Day outfit is likely to be a long casual emboidered cotton skirt + T shirt, or 3/4 slacks + smart T shirt. Flat sandals or gold scuffs (thongs for us, flip flops for the Americans!)

(Once in Hawaii I yelled back to Sophie to 'grab her thongs and hurry up': two teenage boys nearly died from the initial whiplash and then subsequent deep, deep confusion and disapointment as lo, in their tiny world 'thong' had such a different meaning....)
