Yay, Michael Ende! I read The Neverending Story and loved it; I keep meaning to hunt it down again and read the translation to see if it's as magical as I remember, then read as much as I can understand of the original.

I vaguely remember a friend recommending it to me in Year 7, but I didn't get around to reading it. I did read and love English translations of Cornelia Funke, but I'm not sure I'd be able to manage those in German.
