First and foremost, I'd like to offer up a huge "Thank You!!" to you for writing a story for me. I know how difficult it can be to put any part of your creative process into the hands of another individual, so I will do my best to treat that trust with the care and respect it deserves. ^_^
Rating and kink: Any rating can fly. Really. Any rating. And for shipfic, my general preferences tend towards slash or femslash and/or polyamory. ^_^
As for kink, if you’d like to write something on the higher end of the rating scale, I'll specify within specific fandoms if there are any particular kinks I might be interested in. (If you'd like to include a kink and you aren't sure I'll be OK with it, please ask the mods to contact me and ask. I'm pretty approachable and I really won't mind being spoiled with something like that. If anything, it will only heighten my gleeful anticipation. ^_^)
General likes and dislikes: Likes: I like fluff. I like angst. I like hurt/comfort (emotional or physical) and sick!fic. I like found family stories. I like shipfic. I like plotty fic. I like long fic. I like short fic. I like character studies. I like AUs of the "What if?" variety (i.e. what if character A had made a different decision here; what if character B hadn't died). I like explorations of things beyond canon (i.e. continuations of canon, deeper explorations of things only mentioned in passing in canon, expanding on the stories of minor characters, backstories, etc.).
I like a whole lot more than that, but in the interest of not writing a 20,000 word letter, here's the punch line to all of this babbling: what draws me to fandom is the characters and the interactions between them. So, if you keep the story focused on the characters, I'll generally be happy with whatever other plot trappings fall around them. ^_^
DNWs (do not wants): 1) AUs, particularly mundane AUs (i.e. coffeehouse AUs, high school AUs, etc.), unless specified. As mentioned above, AUs of the "What if?" variety (i.e. what if character A had made a different decision here; what if character B hadn't died) are fine. 2) Infidelity/cheating/going behind someone's back/etc. 3) Embarrassment/secondhand embarrassment/humiliation 4) Any talk of animal abuse or animal death makes me really upset. So, if there are any animals in your stories, I’d appreciate it if none of them were hurt or killed, and that they are all treated with care and respect. Thanks! 5) The following kinks: Age play/infantalism, scat, watersports, a/b/o dynamics/omegaverse. (…basically, if I haven't listed it as something I'd like for a particular story, please err on the side of caution and just don't include it. Thanks!)
Specific Requests:
You are free to utilize any prompt I toss out there or none of them. If reading what I like about the characters/worlds sparks a fic idea in your head, feel free to ignore the prompts and run with it. ^_^
Also, length of babble in no way indicates my fandom preferences. (i.e., some of these I literally just finished a full re-up of canon before sign-ups so I ended up having a LOT more to say about those canons than some of the others, but it in no way means that I care less about the others. Some are just fresher in my mind.) I promise I’m equally excited about the possibility of all of these requests. ^_^ Some of these are also cribbed from earlier letters, because I just honestly can never get enough of them, so here we are. ^_^
1. The 4400 (TV) Characters: Shawn Farrell, Jordan Collier
I still get a major kick of nostalgic missing this show sometimes, particularly Shawn. I mean, I can’t think of many characters that tick more of the boxes of things I love than Shawn does. He may start out as a self-centered teenager, seeing everything from his own point of view first (as most teenagers do, to be fair), but he grows into this self-sacrificing, altruistic adult with an almost desperate need to put himself on the line between the people he cares about and whatever might hurt them… and he cares about EVERYONE. He just tries so, so hard to do what’s right, to help as many people as he can, and he gets stomped on so hard for it and it KILLS ME… in all the best ways. ^_^ Any exploration of that character arc would be WONDERFUL.
Holy shit, do I still ship these two like WHOA. ^_^ It’s fucked up and disturbing and manipulative and SUPER unhealthy (and I’m pretty sure it at least started out in mildly dubcon territory), but I LOVE IT, and I would not at all mind you including some of those fucked up power dynamics if you choose to go down this road, because dubcon is definitely a kink I enjoy. ^_~ I love how Jordan manages to ride that line of grooming Shawn to be his heir-apparent, taking over that mentor/father role that Shawn no longer has in Tom, yet also still treats Shawn like someone desirable, that he is willing to take into his confidence and (almost) treat as an equal. He trusts Shawn with the truth about his debilitating headaches post-encounter with Isabel, for example. And I love how their relationship changes throughout the series, too, and how there's almost potential for equality by the end.
I would love anything exploring that thoroughly fucked up patch of their relationship, when Jordan first takes Shawn in:
Give me Shawn’s doubts about Jordan’s intentions
Give me his uncertainty about whether or not this is really what he wants from Jordan
Give me how he feels about Jordan’s string of famous lovers: Is he jealous? Does he feel special in comparison or just used?
Or for that matter, just straight up PWP would be welcome, NGL. I just… miss these two a LOT. *_*
…Jordan’s death. Give me ALL of Shawn’s heart-broken angst. ALL OF IT.
I am also a sucker for sick!fic and hurt/comfort. How about Shawn overdoing it on a healing and needing to be looked after? Does he feel conflicted about Jordan taking on more of the father figure role here, or does that feel more right for him?
Or how about post-canon?
Tom mentions that in order to get rid of his unwelcome Marked passenger, Jordan is going to have to mend fences with Shawn. What does that look like? Do they become wary allies? Potential friends?
Does this slip into one-night-stand territory that they both regret come morning, even if it felt good to fall back into that pattern for just the one night?
Or do they come out of that mending fences with a better sense of who the other is now and willing to try a relationship of true equals? Maybe Jordan is finally willing to see Shawn as his own person and not just an appendage.
(I had originally written this sign-up with just Shawn before deciding to choose Jordan, too, so here are the Shawn-only prompts, in case you’re interested. ^_^) [Spoiler (click to open)]
I am also a total sucker for hurt/comfort and sick!fic, so really anything taking place exploring the events of the inhibitor/re-quarantine events and how that went for Shawn, before, during, or after, would be lovely. *_*
What was it like for Shawn coming back to a world that was so familiar, yet so unfamiliar? To have his little brother turn into an enemy in his own home?
For that matter, his recovery from the coma that Kyle woke him up from. What was that like to move back into his childhood home, still half-an-invalid, to a world that is once again totally unfamiliar, when he was so recently ago one of the most powerful men in the country?
What happens to Shawn post-canon? He’s lost his whole family now. How does he cope with that? What becomes of him?
I’m also a little obsessed with that one terribly bleak future that Maia saw for the Promycin-positives (with them all being branded and herded off into camps/quarantine facilities/etc.). What if that had come to pass? Where would Shawn have ended up in all that? You can’t convince me that the government wouldn’t have tried to use all those rounded up Promycin-positives once they had them. That could have gone pretty badly for a healer who has trouble saying “No…”
Other nominated characters that I wouldn’t mind seeing show up, if you are so minded… Shawn and Kyle: [Spoiler (click to open)]Another relationship with SO much potential. I know they’re cousins, but NGL, I ship them too. ^_~ They go SO far out of their way for each other, each willing to put themselves at risk (or the other at risk, for that matter), if it might mean saving their cousin. And FUCK, but the shifting dynamic between them all throughout the show just KILLS ME. I love how they trade roles back and forth: the coma victim, the savior, the hunted, the revered, and PARTICULARLY how they swap roles and opinions around Jordan. I could write a whole damned essay about all that role swapping that goes on between them. *_* So, any exploration of their relationship would be welcome. ^_^
And what was their pre-canon relationship like? We know that they used to drink together, that they grew up closer to each other than either of them was with Danny… did that ever go any farther? I’d love to see some endearingly awkward first-time fumbling around between them. ^_^
Shawn and Danny: [Spoiler (click to open)]Oh, Danny. :’( Fuck, but you have no idea how much his entire arc breaks my heart, especially where Shawn is concerned. And seeing them finally come together as brothers, as people who care about each other, when they did, in the way they did? BROKE ME. And it all comes back to Shawn’s reaction, again. Forget a one-two punch. This is a one-two-three-four-five-six punch! His mother is dead. Danny killed her. Danny killed (and gave abilities) to many, many, many more people. Danny has to stay on the inhibitor, or he is going to kill many more people… but he’ll die if he does. And then that final coup-de-grace… Shawn has to kill him. And the way Shawn just curls up next to Danny on the bed after it’s done and just… sobs? Just… what… how… HALP. TT^TT How the hell that didn’t break Shawn completely, I will never know. But I would love to read anything more about it that you care to give me. ^_^
What lead to them being in this place? How did their relationship go so far off the rails that they can only relate to each other in extremes?
How does Shawn cope with all of this horror coming at him all at once?
What was that like for Shawn to be forced to choose between his brother and the rest of humanity?
What was the aftermath of that like? How long did Shawn lay next to Danny before he could force himself to move? Did he regret what he’d done? Feel free to go as full-blown angst here as you like. ^_^
Yuleporn Prompts: [Spoiler (click to open)] I would love to see some dubcon here. I love how Jordan manages to ride that line of grooming Shawn to be his heir-apparent, taking over that mentor/father role that Shawn no longer has in Tom, yet also still treats Shawn like someone desirable, that he is willing to take into his confidence and (almost) treat as an equal. I'd love an exploration of Shawn getting manipulated into a relationship with Jordan, unsure if it's what he wants, or how he feels about it, if he feels reassured by this turn in their relationship... or just used and dirty about it.
Alternately, a post-canon one-night stand would be lovely, too. *_* Jordan realizes he needs to mend fences with Shawn. Shawn has literally just lost almost everyone he cares about, in some way or another. Jordan reappearing in his life at that point might be seriously tempting... maybe they both let themselves fall into that one-night stand because it's easier than dealing with all of the changes they've been through. Maybe the old dynamic of letting Jordan be in full control is comforting... in a disturbing sort of way. I also wouldn't mind seeing the aftermath of that. Does Shawn feel dirty after that? Like he's let himself be used... AGAIN. Or maybe he comes out of it determined to make Jordan finally see him as an equal and this leads to a (finally) healthy relationship between the two of them? ^_^
2. All Seeing Eye - Rob Thurman Characters: Hector Allgood, Jackson Lee Eye
OK, the first thing I should say about this canon is that I really enjoy the other nominated characters (Abigail "Abby" (All Seeing Eye), Meleah Guerrera), as well, and if you want either of them to make appearances, I’m more than good with that. ^_^ So why request this particular set of characters?
One of the most compelling parts of the book to me is the enemies-to-friends(-to-lovers? ^_~) thing going on between Jackson and Hector. I absolutely love the entire arc of their developing friendship from angry and antagonistic to deep-seated trust and practical co-dependency. Anything that looks at that friendship (or romance, if you want to look at it that way!) through that lens is something I’d really enjoy.
Specific prompts:
I mentioned in my likes that hurt/comfort is one of my favorite tropes? These two are practically made for it if that’s something you’re into writing. ^_^ (I mean… at least half the book is Hector/Jackson hurt/comfort. ;D) So, something where Jackson’s powers get him into trouble (i.e., coming into contact with something someone died on violently) and Hector having to take care of him while he puts himself back together would be right up my alley. ^____^
And again, if you’re slash minded, we know that Jackson and Hector once had a really awkward conversation about why Jackson doesn’t have sex. Do they ever try it? What do they do to try to get around the whole overly enforced intimacy? Do they end up in a relationship where they’re platonically intimate but not having sex? Hell, do they ever even manage to sleep in the same bed, for that matter? Inquiring minds want to know!
The other thing that I really love about this book is the way it ends. I love that Jackson has started to open himself up to other people. I love that he has a second chance to do right by Tess. I love that he’s built this family for himself out of nothing and completely against the odds. And I would love to see what happens from there. The adventures of Jackson raising Tess, for instance. What’s it like for him and his powers living with another person? What’s it like for someone who didn’t have ANY kind of a healthy childhood to try to raise a child? The punch line is that I’d love to see a little more of Jackson’s happy-ever-after. ^_^
Again, if slash is a thing you’re into, I wouldn’t mind seeing how Hector fits into that future situation, either. ^_^ Because if anything is more likely to be awkwardly adorable than Jackson trying to raise a child, it’s Jackson and Hector trying to raise a child. ;D
I also mentioned that I wouldn’t mind the other nominated characters making an appearance, so here are some thoughts about that - there was NOT enough Abby in the book. Not anywhere near enough. She’s been Jackson’s only family for years-how does SHE fit into the happy ever after? She’s canonically bi/pan-sexual (never explicitly specified which way she identifies, but her dating men and women is mentioned) - if Hector ends up with Jackson, I certainly wouldn’t mind seeing a little Abby/Meleah on the side! ^_^
For that matter, if you are not slash minded, I do enjoy Hector/Meleah, so how do the two of them fit into Jackson’s life post-Tess adoption? Do they have children of their own and do they and Jackson end up leaning on each other to commiserate about parenting problems? (I mean, couldn’t you just see it? “Jackson, the baby’s been crying non-stop for three hours, for the love of all that’s holy, please touch them and tell us what’s wrong, WE BEG YOU.” ;D
As mentioned above, Jackson and Hector once had a really awkward conversation about why Jackson doesn’t have sex (he's a very powerful touch-postcognitive; so that much skin on skin contact generally gives him WAY too much information about his partner). So, I wonder... do Hector and Jackson ever try it? What do they do to try to get around the whole overly enforced intimacy of Jackson's gift? ...or not? How does that play out in bed? Do they end up in a relationship where they’re platonically intimate but not having sex?
For that matter... what might they do instead, if Jackson can't stand to be in physical contact during sex? Maybe some toys and voyeurism are involved? Maybe Hector invests in lots of latex gloves so that fingering and/or fisting can be options? All of these are fair game! ;D
3. Jack the Giant Slayer (2013) Characters: Elmont (Jack the Giant Slayer)
I admit, I stumbled across this movie at a time when I was looking for anything I could find with Ewan McGregor in it, but I quickly became a bit obsessed with it, in its own right. It’s exactly the right amount of corny to not take itself too seriously, to still be able to have a little fun with itself, but the characters are so sincere in themselves and with each other, their relationships so real, that it’s hard to remain unmoved by them. And Elmont. Elmont is my favorite of the bunch for that. He’s competence porn incarnate. He’s just so. incredibly. good. at. his. job. He’s calm and cool as hell in a crisis and he’s such a good judge of people and abilities that he’s able to incorporate those people and abilities into whatever plan he’s concocting on the fly. I also love that he’s another character who doesn’t hesitate to take on the darker, expediently necessary deeds to spare the people he cares about having to commit them. I love that he doesn’t ask anything of anyone that he wouldn’t do, himself. I JUST LOVE HIM, OK. ^_^
General Elmont Prompts: (I… may have way too many of these for this one. OOPS. My imagination ran a bit wild. ^_^)
Elmont is so gentle and so easy-going most of the time. And then there are moments when you’re reminded that he is a very dangerous man-like when he carries through on the decision that, for the good of the kingdom, Roderick has to die. He’s a man capable of doing anything to keep the kingdom and its monarchs safe. His duty is everything to him. What kind of upbringing does he come from that the thought of, essentially, coldblooded assassination doesn’t even slow him down? Do these things ever haunt him (either literally or figuratively)? What else has he done in the name of duty?
What if Elmont hadn’t gotten onto the beanstalk before the army cut it down? What if the other bean had been lost? What if he’d been trapped on the giants’ island alone with the giants, forced to run and hide, constantly keeping one step ahead of them, lest he become dinner or a plaything? What would that do to him? (And, feel free to take that as dark as you want to-torture, noncon, tentacle porn (hey, who knows what else lives up there? There are giants with two heads, after all!), are all fair game. Or if you want to just stay on the psychological trauma aspect, that’s fine with me, too!) Does he ever find a way back to Earth? If so, does he return to Cloister? What kind of shape is he in when he does? (I wouldn’t mind seeing either Brahmwell or Isabelle and Jack helping to put him back together, in that case. ^_^)
What would the land be like if the giants had won? What if humanity became a captive and/or hunted species? Was Elmont captured or did he escape? Who else might still be alive? How about a giant apocalypse scenario, instead of a zombie apocalypse? (Again, feel free to take that one to a really dark place, if you like.)
As I mentioned above, Elmont is like competence porn incarnate. Any fic of him just being damned good at his job would thrill me to no end. Stories about him being head of the guard, protecting the kingdom, talking tactics and strategy, etc. YES, PLEASE.
Elmont backstory would also be awesome! What was his upbringing like? How did he rise to be the captain of the king’s guard? Did he grow up at the palace or come to it later in life?
I’m also just a complete sucker for hurt/comfort and sick!fic, especially for characters who are the ones usually doing the caregiving/protecting, like Elmont. Maybe he gets injured on duty or maybe he just gets sick and has to let someone take care of him for a change?
Inclusion of the other nominated characters, if you are so minded: [Spoiler (click to open)]
In the case of either potential ship (Brahmwell/Elmont, Elmont/Isabelle/Jack), I could see it starting out as Elmont just wanting to do whatever it takes to make the other person happy. He’s very much a product of a vassal mentality, where everything he does is to make is ruler happy and keep them safe. But then, over time, he slowly realizes that he isn’t just a convenience, that Brahmwell, or Isabelle and Jack, want him because he’s HIM, that they see him as an equal, that he is valued. I just want to see Elmont happy. ^_^
This is probably one of the few fandoms I wouldn’t mind a bit of AU for. I love that snapshot into the future they show of the Crown in modern day England. I’m also a sucker for reincarnation fic. Maybe Elmont (and some of the others, maybe Brahmwell, Isabelle, and/or Jack?) get reincarnated into the present day and the giants once more become a threat? What do they do? How does that go down? Do they have their memories? Maybe Elmont remembers and the others don’t? There’s some delicious angst potential down that road. ^_~ Or maybe the giants aren’t a threat. How do they meet? Do they have their memories? Honestly, I’d be happy with a meet-cute here, too. ^_^ Because as much as I love my angst, I also really want Elmont to just be able to claim a little happiness for himself. ^_^
I may be on this little rowboat all by my lonesome, but I do ship Elmont with King Brahmwell. I’m not even sorry. ^_^ What it basically boils down to is that the King and Lionheart trope is one of my favorite tropes. (I tried to find a better link for you, but that’s the only reference I could actually find to the trope? O_o;;;) Anyway, the basic deal with a King and Lionheart trope is that there is a ruler and their vassal/guard/champion/what-have-you, and there is MAD FEALTY AND RESPECT between the two and, while it may be only the vassal showing fealty in public, in reality, it goes both ways, with the vassal able to take liberties in private that they would never dream of taking in public. (…I definitely have a loyalty/fealty kink. ^_^) And Elmont exemplifies that Lionheart character achetype. He has such utter, absolute, unshakable faith in his monarchs - both Brahmwell and Isabelle - but you can see in the beginning that neither of them quite lives up to his mental image of what they could be: Isabelle because she’s too young and too sheltered, and Brahmwell because he’s been so devastated by loss that he’s let fear coax him into making selfish and poor decisions. Then, through the course of the movie, both Isabelle and Brahmwell step up to the plate and grow up a little, until by the end he’s so proud of both of them and so full of love for them that he’s practically glowing with it. And from there, it’s a very short step to shipping, if you choose to go in that direction? ^_^ If not, I’d love to see Elmont’s loyalty discussed in a platonic sense, as well, just king to vassal.
(Also, you’re welcome to check out my tumblr tag for them, if you’re interested -- it’s pretty short, but there’s some fun stuff in there. ^_^)
I… also ship him with Isabelle and Jack, if you choose to go that way. I love the three of them, too. ^_^ Elmont obviously cares a great deal for Isabelle, going above and beyond the call of duty to keep her safe and happy. And he comes to care just as deeply for Jack, both as the man who makes Isabelle happy and in his own right. But that affection he has for the two of them doesn’t extend to coddling either one of them-if they insist they can do something, he accepts it unquestioningly and does whatever he can to support them without interfering. And there’s a bit of King and Lionheart going on between Elmont and Isabelle, too. So, I could very happily see Isabelle and Jack coaxing him into a relationship with the two of them.
Man, ANYTHING Brahmwell x Elmont (shippy) or Brahmwell & Elmont (platonic) would make me happy. Slice of life? PWP? Aftermath of the giant battle? Elmont comforting Brahmwell (either emotionally or physically/sexually) after his wife’s death? Brahmwell realizing that he’s done a really poor job of being king since his wife’s death and deciding it’s damned time he turned it around and started living up to Elmont’s hopes for him as a ruler? (I’m pretty sure I’m on this little rowboat of a ship by myself, so really, anything would be welcome. ^_^)
I would also love to see happy threesome Isabelle/Jack/Elmont. How did it come about? Was it Jack’s idea? Isabelle’s? Was there any pining on Elmont’s part? Was he resigned to the fact that it would never happen (or that it shouldn’t happen)? Or maybe we want to skip all that and just have happy threesome cuddles or sex? Or the three of them raising Isabelle and Jack’s kids? Is this an acknowledged, public, threeway marriage? Or is Elmont a dirty, little secret? I just love their whole dynamic together and the dynamics of each of the pairings in the threesome, so more of all of it would be welcome. ^_^
Yuleporn prompts: [Spoiler (click to open)] What if Elmont hadn’t gotten onto the beanstalk before the army cut it down? What if the other bean had been lost? What if he’d been trapped on the giants’ island alone with the giants, forced to run and hide, constantly keeping one step ahead of them, lest he become dinner or a plaything? What would that do to him? (And, feel free to take that as dark as you want to-torture, noncon, tentacle porn (hey, who knows what else lives up there? There are giants with two heads, after all!), are all fair game.
4. Jeremiah (TV) Characters: Markus Alexander, Jeremiah (Jeremiah)
The first thing I should mention is that I requested only Jeremiah and Markus to make the matching easier. If, however, you’d prefer to write for Erin and Theo, I am totally cool with that and will leave prompts, just in case. ^_^
Oh... Jeremiah. ^_^ Your dystopian, disaster-ridden, well-intentioned, mommy/daddy-issued, f'ed up plottiness gets me every time. The idea of an entire world full of people who grew up from childhood with no guiding parental force is not entirely original (Peter Pan, Star Trek TOS's "Miri", the list goes on), but how they handled it in this show, I thought, was particularly brilliant. I love how you have a range in attitude from those old enough to remember the days before the Big Death and thus endlessly angst and wish after those lost technologies and the easy lives they had and those who were so young at the time that this screwed up remnant of a world is all they know and they embrace it. I love how there are pockets of people trying to reclaim civilization and others that embrace the utter lawlessness of a world with no rules. Most of all I love how every single person in this world has a touch of the sulky and rebellious teenager in them and how, ironically, it's the oldest ones who cling to each other most desperately to assuage their fears of abandonment.
1) Jeremiah/Markus
Uh... this actually isn't what it looks like... but I wish it were. ^_~ [From Season 1, Episode 18 ~29 minutes in]
I don’t know what it is about those two that I love so. By all rights a relationship between them should not work, hell, even a friendship between them shouldn't work, but somehow it does. There are moments between them when you see that Jeremiah is the only one that Markus lets his guard down around -- the time he gets drunk and Jeremiah is the one to find and take care of him, the way that Jeremiah is the only one he's comfortable enough around to show his rage and frustration, the way that Jeremiah doesn't believe in anyone… yet he believes in Markus. I love that. Everything about it.
The truth is, I have a bit of a fealty/loyalty kink, and Jeremiah and Markus exemplify that trope in a very unique way. Jeremiah is loyal to Markus and, more importantly, to the ideals that Markus is almost too afraid to have in the beginning, but wants to have. And Markus recognizes early on that the only way to keep Jeremiah's loyalty is to give him complete freedom and autonomy, to deny him even the trappings of that fealty. It's the epitome of "if you love something let it free," and it's fascinating watching that play out and watching Jeremiah slowly but surely accept a more traditional form of loyalty -- even when that means protecting Markus from himself.
I'd love to see something exploring that relationship and how it changes, even just looking at a snapshot of it along the way. Markus carries the weight of the world on his shoulders and has always acted far older than his age. Jeremiah is the only one who consistently gets him to drop that, even if only for a moment, and act like he's no older than the rest of them. Markus accepts things from Jeremiah in a way he doesn't from anyone else -- if he's not Jeremiah's leader, he doesn't have to stay strong, after all -- and maybe that allows him to accept comfort from Jeremiah after Meghan's death.
Some more specific prompt thoughts:
What was going through Jeremiah's head when Markus got shot?
Maybe you want to look at what happens after the finale. Does Markus stay in charge? What does he do if he doesn't?
Slice of life at Thunder Mountain
Markus overworks himself/gets sick/gets injured/has a major hangover from that drinking binge/etc. and Jeremiah has to be the one to sit on him and get him to rest?
This one is a little specific, but I’ve always wondered what it would be like to have these two dropped into an alternate future-i.e., one where the Big Death didn’t happen-and have to find each other there and decide whether or not they even want to try to get home to the other people they care about, or if they just want to take the blessing for what it is and live out their lives in this new world.
Yuleporn prompts: [Spoiler (click to open)]For Markus/Jeremiah, I'd honestly love to see Markus just running off the rails with self-doubt/stress/what-have-you and basically Jeremiah fucking him right out of his own head as a form of stress relief. Because Markus has been the one in charge for so long and he never really hands those reins over to anyone else... except Jeremiah. Even if only briefly.
Again, I'd love it if this went in a slashy direction with these ideas, but if that's not your thing, I'd be perfectly happy with an exploration of those ideas from a platonic/friendship direction.
2) Erin/Theo -- I didn't request these two, because I didn't want to make the matching harder, but I love them just as much as I do Jeremiah and Markus, so if that is your cup of tea, feel free to click the spoiler tag... ^_^
If women/femslash is more your cup of tea, then I love these two just as much as Jeremiah and Markus. There's something about a pair of women who are each practically competence porn incarnate, yet straddle opposite sides of the good/evil line. I just love that. ^_^ I love how Theo is so evil and just revels in it, yet when she decides to stand up and put her foot down for what's right… holy hot damn does everyone sit up and listen and follow. And yet, at the same time, because of her season 2 situation, she ends up vulnerable. Then you have Erin, the warrior woman, standing for all that is good and right, but not afraid to get her hands dirty to accomplish it. And after all the men in the series prove that they are woefully inadequate at dealing with Theo, Erin just walks right up and slams all of Theo’s shit right back into her teeth. And Theo takes it. Then when they recognized that kindred spirit in each other and became fast, though uneasy, friends, every male in Thunder Mountain probably dove for cover when they joined forces. ^_^ So. Yeah. Love.
(The one thing I ask is that either no big deal be made of Theo's pregnancy or that this take place either before the pregnancy or after she's already had the baby. I think Erin and Theo and the baby making a little found family would be lovely, but pregnancy really isn’t something I enjoy delving into the details of, even in fic.)
More specific prompt thoughts:
I'd love to see a snapshot of future life for them -- what are their new roles in the government once it's in place?
Is Theo's baby a boy, a girl, or the feared twins? Do they grow closer? Does Erin do as offered in 2.05 and help Theo raise her child? Do they ever become more than friends?
Or maybe the future domestic bliss scene isn't your cup of tea? I'd also love to see something looking at their shared traits and how they present so differently in each woman. They are both warriors. They are both leaders. They are both fiercely protective individuals. At the core, they have so much in common, but they couldn't be more different. I'd love to see how that dichotomy plays out in their friendship/relationship. We know that Theo has been brought into Erin's world during the series. Does Theo ever bring Erin into hers? There is so much potential to explore between the two of them, either as friends or as lovers, and so little fic devoted to them and I'd love to see more!
Yuleporn prompts: [Spoiler (click to open)]Oh, gosh, my greatest desire with them is just to see them taking care of each other. Slow, gentle, sweet sex. Because neither one of them has ever had the time or the opportunity to really let themselves be pampered. I just want to see them happy and taking their time with each other. Like, a day away from the mountain and all responsibilities woudl be lovely. Maybe Theo found a hot spring somewhere and drags Erin along or something? The one thing I ask is that either no big deal be made of Theo's pregnancy or (preferably) that this take place after she's already had the baby. I think the two of them and the baby making a little found family would be lovely, but pregnancy sex isn't a kink I really enjoy.
5. Raising Dion (TV) Characters: Kat Neese, Nicole Warren, Suzanne Wu
I fell hard and fast for this show and had absolutely no one to flail about it with for SO LONG, so I’ve had all these thoughts and feelings colliding around my brain for weeks and it’s all gotten a little incoherent. OOPS. One of the things I love so much about this show is that there are so many complex, interesting characters, especially women, who all have very different strengths and weaknesses, and that they come together in pairs and trios and little teams and found families and support each other, and THAT IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE THINGS ALWAYS.
Kat & Nicole & Suzanne: I’m pretty sure these three have never been all in one place in canon, but holy HELL are there possibilities galore for fun shenanigans post-S1 canon. ;D For one thing, all three of them have one major driving force in common: protect Dion. And I would love to see them team up in some capacity, maybe in the name of accomplishing that.
Kat is a doctor who no longer has a job. Suzanne is the CEO of a major scientific/medical research company. SCIENCE WOMEN UNITE.
This doesn’t even have to run down an angst road. I would love to see some shenanigans here: Kat picking up on an undercurrent of not-quite-platonic interest from Suzanne to Nicole and deciding it’s time to introduce her new boss to the fun of dating an employee’s little sister?
AWKWARD TEAM BONDING. Seriously, just the three of them deciding that they could use a little team building, because sometimes it’s like they’re all speaking different languages, and Kat, at least, knows how important it is for the team to be able to work together and anticipate each other’s needs, and honestly, you could take this to a serious heartfelt place or an awkward shenanigans place, and I’d be equally thrilled. ;D
(As detailed above, I would not at ALL mind a super team up of these three women to Get Shit Done, but if you want to treat this as a bit of an ‘or’ instead of an ‘and’ situation, I’m OK with that, especially considering that I don’t believe that Kat and Suzanne have even met in canon, yet. So, in deference to that, here are some pair-up prompts…)
Kat & Nicole: I feel SO MUCH for Kat. Being an older sister whose younger sister has made questionable choices that made her worry MORE THAN ONCE and who has also been a worn-out medical professional, I just empathize with her a LOT. I love the relationship between her and Nicole and how they support each other and love each other and will drop everything for each other, but there’s still that classic sibling relationship, as well: rivalry and misunderstandings and worry and love all rolled into a tangled up ball. I would love to see more of that in any capacity: pre-show, during the show, post-show.
For example, we saw how there has been a loss of trust between them in the past and how that informs the way they keep secrets from each other-I’d love to see how that developed and how they moved past it. (i.e., How does Nicole handle finding out about Danielle? Now that Kat is over the shock of Dion having powers, I can’t imagine she’d just drop off the map. Does she get more involved? How?)
They’ve been through so much, I would even love a little domestic slice-of-life fluff for them. Maybe a little holiday fun for the sisters, or the sisters and Dion? Maybe double dates with Danielle and Mark? Basically just LET THEM BE HAPPY.
Suzanne Wu: THE SEEMINGLY COLD, CALCULATING, BRILLIANT, SCIENTEST CEO OF MY HEART. I cannot possibly express to you how much I loved watching her entire arc unfold. I love how you start out pretty much convinced that she’s the villain, or at least hiding something REALLY hinky at BIONA, with “nefarious purposes” practically stamped on her forehead. And in the end, it turns out that she’s been trying to protect Dion all along?? I admit, I did not see that one coming at ALL, and as a twist it was PERFECT. After that reveal, Suzanne is still not sugar and spice and everything nice-she’s still looking out for her own interests and those of the greater good first-but so many of the things she did take on a whole new light in that context. AND I LOVE IT. I would honestly just love more Suzanne in any way, shape, or form.
Backstory? YES, PLEASE. She’s the CEO of a major science research company and got into some REALLY interesting shit in the name of that research. She has SERIOUSLY protective vibes: whether it’s for her IP, the world, children of her most promising scientists/superheroes, etc. What went into that? How did she become who she is? I’D LOVE TO KNOW. *_*
…I also ship her and Nicole kind of a lot. ^_^
Nicole & Suzanne or Nicole/Suzanne:
I am an absolute sucker for an enemies-to-friends-to-lovers scenario, and Nicole and Suzanne would be PERFECT for it. I love that in the beginning, Nicole is almost a non-entity to Suzanne. She’s insignificant. She doesn’t really matter. Dion is the one who matters. And then there is that SHINING, GLORIOUS MOMENT when Nicole busts into BIONA and demands they give Dion back to her, and you can practically SEE the recalibration happening in Suzanne’s head as she realizes “Holy SHIT. You SO need more careful handling than I thought, LET’S GET ON THAT.” And whether these two land as fiercely protective women working in tandem to keep Dion safe and to take down Pat or it turns into a romantic situation between them, I am SO DOWN for either possibility. I will literally take these two any way I can get them. *_*
And also, though she wasn’t nominated and I’m not going to expound on her too much in deference to that, I am a HUGE fan of Charlotte and the little found family that she and Nicole and Dion have built (and I also ship HER and Nicole more than a little, both platonically/in-a-found-family-way and/or romantically), and if you felt like running down that road a little or including her, I would DEFINITELY not mind.
6. Tir Alainn Trilogy - Anne Bishop Characters: Morag (Tir Alainn Trilogy), Padrick (Tir Alainn Trilogy), Ashk (Tir Alainn Trilogy)
I love these three. I just really, really do. I love Ashk and Morag’s friendship, how well they understand each other, how, in each other, they’ve finally found someone else who can match their strength, someone who wouldn’t be afraid of them just because of who they are. I love Padrick and Ashk’s relationship, how Padrick not only accepts, but revels, in Ashk’s strength but still looks for opportunities to pamper her and show her a little softness, how he loves the Green Lady and respects and follows the Hunter and everything in between. And I love Padrick and Morag’s friendship, how he treats her to that same blend of tough love and kindness that he does Ashk, how he revels in the fact that he gets to stand by her side and see that she’s taken care of, not just because Ashk would want it, but because, in his own way, he loves her, too. I love how he sees so easily that Morag has been starved for simple things like friendship and affection from all but her sister and is eager to coddle her and take of her but is equally easy with stepping aside and accepting her lead, how he just lets her be who she is, like he does for Ashk. I just love the entire dynamic between these three. ^___________^
Prompts:
FIX IT, OMG, PLEASE FIX IT. I mean, the ending where Morag ends up getting to grow up as Ari’s beloved wiccanfae daughter is great. It really is. But I’d be even happier if they’d found a way to cure her or if she’d never been turned to begin with. So what happens? How does that get fixed? How do they deal with the close call/might-have-been? Is Morag even happy to be saved?
Or maybe we just want to skip the how and go straight to what happens next? I would love some happy threesome fic for these three. I really would. ^_^ Whether that’s an Ashk/Padrick + Morag situation or it’s a full-on Ashk/Morag/Padrick situation, I just want more of the three of them and that dynamic I described above. ^_^ For example:
The war is over and Morag returns to Bretonwood with Ashk and Padrick. Does one of them have to talk the other into wooing Morag or are they already on the same page? How does Morag react? It seems like she, at least, would need some convincing. She’s had too many years of thinking herself a freak and completely undesirable. (I mean, she’s shocked as all get out by Padrick’s appreciation of her beauty on the journey.) Has she ever even been intimate with anyone? Is she afraid she’ll ruin things? Or do they just click into place like they belong together?
If we are in happy threesome territory already (either romantically or platonically), what is that like? Some happy slice-of-life fic for them would be lovely. A Harvest Fair, maybe? Helping Ari celebrate the Solstice? A quiet evening at home tucked in by the fire while it snows outside? (We know that Padrick loves petting shadowhounds and Morag has a brand new shadowhound-mix puppy to cuddle, so maybe we have a literal puppy pile by the fire? ;D) Padrick and Ashk trying to introduce Morag to the finer points of human life?
I’d also just love honestly ANYTHING about Ashk and Morag’s friendship. They’ve both been so starved for someone who understands them and doesn’t fear them. Ashk at least has the second in Padrick, and Morag with Morphia, but having someone who understands them is a different thing entirely. I love those moments when they work in such perfect gestalt that neither even needs to speak because they just GET IT. And I love that. I love their friendship. I love that deep level of understanding. I love that recognition in them both, that feeling of “I KNOW you. I get you. Yessssss,” and how as wary as everyone is of each of them alone, the two of them together are just Not To Be Trifled With Ever. I just love them, OK? ^_^ (And I’m OK with this prompt being just the two of them; the only thing I ask is that if you take this down a romantic road that it’s understood that Padrick is included, as well, even if he isn’t explicitly present in the fic.)
Holy cow, as usual, that’s a really long letter. O_O Sorry about that, I just tend to get excited. ^_^ Hopefully you found something at least a little bit helpful in there, somewhere. If you didn’t, however, they really were just thoughts and suggestions. So, if any of the details I provided don't work for you, feel free to toss them out the window and write what's most comfortable for you. If you are happy and excited about what you're writing, I'm sure I will love it. Passion comes across and I do not in any way want to dampen yours. ^_^ Go with your gut. The fact that you're writing something for me is plenty enough to have me thrilled and excited and bouncing for joy. ^_^
