Nader is on the ballot in 45 states...including Florida.

I recommend EVERYONE right now go to Netflix and watch Nader: An Unreasonable ManThere is a reason they won't let Nader anywhere near the presidential debates ( Read more... )

Goddamn Nader. I mean. It's not the time for this. You have a much better chance of seeing these independent candidates getting further under a democratic led system than a republican system. I'd hate to see something like this happen again where people would usually vote the democratic candidate sacrifice their vote (and in our system right now, it is that) and again allow the republican candidate to win--- so NO one wins. That's why he gets the blame, unfairly.

They have a great, fantastic system in Ireland. Cormac and I are always going on about it and I think there needs to be a major overhaul in America as far as the election system goes. BUT. Please, please don't use your vote for Ralph Nader. I don't think this is a choice between two evils at all-- I think Obama is a decent man who believes the things he says. I can't swallow the idea of McCain and Palin managing to get into the oval office.

Plus, regardless of his stance on issues, I do think that 74 is too old to be running for president.

Age shouldn't matter as long as there is a good VP candidate. But it honestly doesn't matter because Nader knows he's not going to win. Winning is not the point of running. And it's not about ego, either. It's about making a difference...it's about standing up for those who just don't identify as either deomocrat or republican. There will never be more choice (besides D and R) unless those choices start being more widely available.

I don't know if I will actually choose Nader over Obama. I do believe Obama needs to be president over McCain. However, I do NOT believe that voting for Nader is wasting my vote. Not voting for who I believe in would be wasting my vote.

So now I just have to decide who and what I believe in more. I've got more thinking to do.

I totally get what you're saying here. The only thing that concerns me about Independents voting for Ralph Nader is that we know Ralph Nader won't be elected. Therefore, if Independents hand their votes over to Nader, that takes votes away from Obama that he needs and basically hands the presidency to John McCain. While I think it's noble of you (and other Nader supporters) to want to raise up your candidate and get the wheels of change in motion, I don't think this particular election is the appropriate time to flex those muscles. A lot in our country is riding on this election, and now is the time to vote for the most likely candidate who will do the best for our country. Once we've stabilized ourselves a bit and people have learned how to behave, I'm all for pushing for qualified third party. But right now, voting for Nader would be wasting your vote. Because the statement you'll be making A.) Won't be received by the nation because, let's face it, they don't care and B.) Will be, on a large scale, assuring John McCain a ( ... )

THANK YOU!

I have been through the 1996, 2000, 2004 elections and have gone through various philosophies about voting. This is not the time in this country to opt for third party politics. I am Green, but my vote goes to Obama this year. Not because I fully agree with everything he wants to do as president, but because I care about women's reproductive rights in this country.

Palin on the McCain ticket is strong enough reason for EVERYONE to not vote in another Conservative regime for the next four years. Her mere presence in this election is the MAIN reason to vote for Obama/Biden this time around.

We are in a cultural war in the U.S.
It's not time to dick around anymore. :/
