So for my final project for theater, I'm writing a modern noh play, and in doing so, I'm pulling quotes from all sorts of sources of poetry and literature, just as actual noh plays are heavy with references to other works

Literally analysis? Is this one of those moments where you're failing at English because you've spent too much time in Japan, or is it that there's some newfangled analysis that I just know nothing about because all I do is work at the Census (and check LJ on government time)?
