WOW what should I do

Jan 27, 2007 00:01

Ok so a freind at work has a free pass for 10 days World of Warcraft.
He has offered it and the install disks to me.
Do I take it?
Do I risk becoming a WOWHead?
Is 10 days even worth playing?
Opinions please!

as a non-gamer, I wouldn't find this interesting at all. It's a game designed to reward more and more time spent on it, and to create community for people that might not be used to large group interactions.

1) I have enough things to do with my life that several hours a day would be a definite inconvenience. Presumably you do too.

2) I don't need to learn how to do large group interactions or have a community created for me, because I can do it IRL. Again... presumably you can too. ;-)

It's like with heroin and inkjet printers: The first one's free, kid, but after that you gotta pay. And you will pay, kid, and dearly.

I wouldn't expect a family man to be able to take on such a time-suck and remain a family man.

I took someone up on a similar offer a long while back. 10 days was enough to get through the initial "OOH SHINY" spell and realize how bored I was playing that game. So, for me, it was worth it :)

roger that.

Plus, I have yet to really see something line that actually resembles something I would really define as "role-playing." It may exist in other MMO's (like Eve Online), but I think you'd be hard pressed to find something other than filk-posing on WoW.

Well, you did recently post a question on how to get content via computer and be able to ditch the cable.

Get your whole family WoWing and you'll never need cable again... urg... or so I hear.
