So. After 12 hours together (yes, I was the loser at the store right after it opened), here are some initial thoughts on Guitar Hero: World Tour.

- I am going to marry this game, and have many fat babies with it.

- Drums = HARD. Seriously. I am so unco!

- The new guitar peripheral is damned pretty. The larger size (25% bigger than previous controllers) makes a heck of a difference. They've also reworked button positioning, and tweaked a few other things here an there resulting in a very user-friendly controller. I've yet try any of its new fancy tricks (like the solo buttons on the neck), though.

- The drum peripheral is, as expected, far from perfect. The red note on my controller needs to be whacked pretty hard to register, and the yellow note was the same. I swapped the yellow "cymbal" with the orange one, however, and it seems to have sorted that out nicely. Good thing the colour markers are changeable.

- Haven't done anything more than unwrap and look at the microphone. The less I sing, the better for all concerned. Trust me.

- My hands are quite sore. Also, my eyes are kinda wonky. That's what happens when you spent nigh on 12 hours straight staring at a TV whacking a fancy bit of plastic, I guess.

- Need to get a decent stool, or some better kind of seating arrangement. Even with two pillows on top of the cat tube-thing (a carpet-covered wooden tube thing for the cats to play in), my ass is still numb. Suspect, however, that this might be related to the marathon session more than anything else, though.

- A very respectable song list - there's bound to be something in there for almost everyone. I look forward to more downloadable content being released, though. Because I'm greedy like that.

- Deliberately making the three Tool songs some of the last ones you unlock = lame. Although they're pretty durned tricky.

And now, back to it! Because nothing says RSI like a new Guitar Hero game AND a job in data entry!

DANCE FOR ME, ICON-GARTH!
