Ah, I love philosophical discussions. =)
A friend of mine who I eat lunch with is a pure methodist Christian, and I'm a mess of Eastern and Western Philosophy (examples: I believe in Karma, view most religious figures as teachers, yet not gods (such as Jesus and Bhudda), believe in balance, and I do not believe in Hell or a pure evil Satan). We have lively discussions a lot, but today's was particularly good. She's a dear, but sometimes not very bright, but today she was on the ball. =D It was a lively (but friendly) debate, where she pointed out that it was her belief that no one could get to Heaven except through being Christian and going through Jesus, and I retaliated with telling her that it seemed very harsh towards people who found that the Christian path was not right and healthy for them (poster child here!). We brought up topics such as karma, reincarnation, the existance of Hell, the ways to Heaven, how Jesus worked into the whole Christian philosophy, etc.
I can't wait until Monday. I left her with a question that I have been wanting a Christian to answer for a long while. Would the Christians' God (their view of him, I guess), as a god of justice and love, condemn someone like Ghandi, who was an amazing person, did amazing amounts of good in his life, and was an all around awesome person, yet who knew of Christianity and did not become a Christian?
*wiggles in seat* Mmm, debating. My favourite.
