None of my LJ friends have done this (or at least I haven't caught you...=)) but I thought I'd throw it out there since the topic came up on the way home from Winter Park last night between us girls. This is my biggest turn off when it comes to making friends ( Read more... )

I know ONE thing that would turn me off from being friends with Ro... I mean, someone.

(Well, YOU asked)

I dunno..Everything that ticks me off about new friends I am probably guilty of. I don't like close minded people, but if you say a statement like that, doesn't that make you close minded? I try to appreciate everything about everyone-even if it's hard to see their silver lining.

But I agree with you..I don't like/appreciate/tolerate liars. If you don't want to hang out then just fucking say so. If you prefer someone else's company to mine then thats fine-at least you're being honest--fuckin brutal--but honest. But knowing me I'll be pissed off and the new friend wil come around giving an excuse as to why he/she didn't hang out...And I'll forgive them because I buckle...like a friggin belt.

For some reason, I could totally hear your voice while reading this...you do try to be everything to everyone, it's got to be exhausting! I'm too selfish.

See that is why I don't lie to you because I can only sprint for like 6ft before I am winded so you would totally catch my ass and kick it. Seriouly I know what you mean and I have been guilty of that before but now I just spout out the truth and let the cards lay where they like.

I agree. Isn't honesty an important aspect of friendships?? Friends have no reason to lie to one another...

My biggest turn-off would be when friends disappear as soon as they get "significant others." Just because you have a bf/gf doesn't mean you need to disappear from the rest of the world! I've always managed to make time for my friends AND my family as well as my boyfriend. How hard is it to skip ONE night with yer lover to spend it with close friends?!?!? Grrrrr. It pisses me off more than I can say. Especially cuz I'm dealing with that shit right now with someone whom I once considered to be one of my best friends. Blah.

The next worse thing is when they DO show up and they won't SHUT UP about their great relationship or the other person...this, of course, excludes rants about "large" physical information since it's so damn distracting...
