I received a family tree today from the guy who called my mom a few months ago and led us to believe he wanted to steal our identities in the night. I was excited to know that my great grandfather's name on my mom's side was Pinchas. There's a Pincus somewhere on my dad's side, too. Now I have an excuse to name a child Pincus someday. Can you

Hilarious, especially the part about hatred in your future son. I kind of like the name, though.

I've always been interested in the whole family tree thing but I wouldn't know where to begin. So many family members are dead or nonexistent to my life right now; that, and I don't want to ever hear that I am related to Jack Dawson from Titanic. It's a great true story, loved the movie (although I'm ashamed sometimes to admit it), but I think it'd be more interesting to hear I am related to an old cult leader of some sort than some dude that went down with the "Ship of Dreams." I hope that doesn't make me sound weird :)

I can actually tell you where to go if you ever get so interested that you actually want to try to make a family tree. There's a historical and genealogical library in Bartow. They help people start that kind of research all the time, and they have a really good collection of material and really well-trained people. I don't have the first clue about conducting genealogical research, but I think it's super interesting. I didn't realize there was really a Jack Dawson. Leonardo DiCaprio aside, it would be cool to know about the love affairs of your ancestors!
